PFLP denounces occupation deception about the ongoing Gaza siege

Comrade Jamil Mizher, member of the Central Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, warned against falling into the Israeli deceptions about allegedly "easing" the siege on Gaza by allowing certain goods to pass.

In an interview on June 17, 2010, Comrade Mizher also denounced the so-called "internal commission of inquiry" set up by the occupation about its aggression against the Freedom Flotilla to gaza, saying that the mentality that controls the occupier is utter disregard for the law.

Comrade Mizher emphasized that in the eyes of the occupation state, the law holds no weight, and that this step is merely designed to mislead and deceive the world, with the full backing of U.S. support and coverage for its crimes. He pointed out that the occupation has been persisting in its aggression, intimidation and criminality against the Palestinian people with impunity for nearly 65 years, committing the most heinous crimes. This time, he said, the crimes have reached international solidarity activists and all who wish to stand by our people.

He emphasized the need to not be misled by Israeli statements and to continue to demand the complete end of the siege on Gaza. He called for an international commission of investigation of the massacre at sea, and for prosecution of this crime among the many war crimes of the Israeli leaders.

Comrade Mizher emphasized the importance of the ongoing Arab and international popular efforts to break the blockade, including delegations, convoys and flotillas, saying these campaigns have made a very real and serious contribution to breaking the siege. He called upon all to continue these campaigns to escalate the pressure upon the occupation regime.

Comrade Emad Abu Rahma, member of the Central Committee of the PFLP, speaking elsewhwere on June 20, 2010, reiterated that the "easing of the blockade" is merely an attempt to beautify the ugly face of the occupation which grew even uglier after the targeting of the Freedom Flotilla and the murder of civilians who came in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

He emphasized that this is a mere formality aimed at easing international pressure on the occupation state, emphasizing the need for continued and enhanced international action to end the siege and support Palestinian national rights - self-determination, sovereignty and the right of return for Palestinian refugees.

He paid tribute to the grassroots international solidarity efforts with the Palestinian people, particularly in Europe and the Americas, saying that these actions place pressure on the governments of these countries to end their complicity and involvement in the siege and occupation.
