I'm quite keen to touch on this topic as it's one which interests me massively. Although this is most likely unknown and comes down to imagination, I'd like to here the ideas and views of other members.
Say there's a world revolution led by a socialist/communist party and it is successful. Now, as it's an international organisation, they 'open' the borders freely, but that's where I start to question things. I know this applies to many parties that people support -- even my own -- but what would happen to these certain issues:
What would the new flag representing this new communist state/nation look like?
The borders of the old countries, i.e. Germany's borders?
The language of this nation become, or would the areas keep their mother tongue's?
I know nobody can give definite answers, but an insight as to what might happen would be nice.

Why would we need a flag? There would only be one 'country' - the World. Maybe a black flag with little stars and a big blue-and-green circle in the middle?
Borders... of what, precisely? There would be no 'German Socialist republic' or anything.
I think gradually we would move towards a world language (some evolutionary combination of Chinese, English, Spanish and Arabic seems most likely), but that wouldn't be immediate. I'd expect local languages would continue for generations to be honest.

A representation of what we stand for and who we are. Doesn't the red flag mean anything to you?
Would the borders become regions, should I say, i.e. Socialist Region of [Place Name]?
That language would certainly be something. I love languages, so it's a win/win situation for me.

I doubt there would be a flag for the whole planet. Flags only exist for identity purposes. Why would the 1 world government even need a flag??
The borders of the old countries, i.e. Germany's borders?
Probibly eliminated. Although boarders geographicly help navigate to some extent. Knowing when you have crossed from france to germany for example, i dont see why they would need to be removed in geographical terms.
The language of this nation become, or would the areas keep their mother tongue's?
Why would language change? It would be near impossible to force any language on all humanity. People from france would speak french, people from japan japanese and people from south africa afrikana.
I doubt the proposed merge of languages would happen either.

Language is not a static thing. It would evolve.
As for borders, there might be some just for administrative purposes early on, or like for technates, if you're into that.

I don't think the "one world" that was prophesized by Marx was literally one country--unless you want to eliminate individual languages, cultures, histories, and topographies, then that's impossible. this belief that it wasn't meant to be a literal desolvement of nations is futher supported by the manifesto:
"The supremacy of the proletariat will cause them [national borders] to vanish still faster. United action, of the leading civilised countries at least, is one of the first conditions for the emancipation of the proletariat.
In proportion as the exploitation of one individual by another will also be put an end to, the exploitation of one nation by another will also be put an end to. In proportion as the antagonism between classes within the nation vanishes, the hostility of one nation to another will come to an end. "
so just by suggesting that nations would even still exist post-communist revolution (by implying the "one nation to another") is proof that he wanted something more akin to the EU.
more so, I think he was a product of his time where he saw most of Europe's fighting--thus, further speculation would lead you to imagine he would've wanted to see something more akin to the European Union or United States (no, I don't think he'd agree with their politics, but their organization, perhaps), where individual countries/provinces retain their identities, but within a framework of unity.
Personally, not all culture is inherently bourgeoisie, nor are individual cultures and bourgeois attitudes synonmous--I would like to see individual cultures, languages, and histories retained, but at the same time, I'd like to see borders destroyed, even if, in a less than literal sense (like the European Union--if you're an EU member, there are no borders inhibiting travel, movement, or commerce, but there are still borders in a de facto sense).
I don't know, I'm strongly influenced by the works of Thomas Sankara (as evident in my name ), and he successfully mixed orthodox Marxism with protectionism of native cultures, religions, and languages.

Let me give my impression of how the United Nations would look like post-revolution:

The borders of the old countries, i.e. Germany's borders?
I think we'll quickly see the formation of continental repblics as an intermediary step towards genuine world unification. For example a European Republic.
The language of this nation become, or would the areas keep their mother tongue's?
This will be a more longer term matter, but I imagine that at least for a time we'll see a bi-lingual culture in which everyone learns just two languages: their mother tongue (or dialect) and an "umbrella" language that acts as a lingua franca for the whole planet, for example Esperanto.
