Seinfeld plays quite the role in my life, for instance, I stopped licking envelopes after George's fiance died.

¿Que?

Not that there's anything wrong with that....

I've gotta admit, I am also now hesitant to lick envelopes after that episode.

I too grew up watching Seinfeld reruns on my local Fox affiliate. I don't watch it as much anymore, but I catch it whenever its on.

I hate sit-coms but I love "Seinfeld". I watched it when it was on originally and I was in high school, but hadn't watched it since then. Recently I've been watching some re-runs and it's almost funnier now that I've had more kinds of jobs - now I recognize that the absurd priorities and obsessions that I thought were so cartoonish when I was younger are actually a documentary-like examination of the Oscar Wildeian concerns of young American professionals. After dealing with insane and absurd customers with no connection to what reality is like for most working people, I love to watch an episode of "Seinfeld" or "Curb Your Enthusiasm" as the absurd professionals stress about social awkwardness around tipping or dealing with service-people. It's totally cathartic to watch it and say: ok, that asshole that came into my workplace today really is that absurd.

That and the shows are just funny and classic.

Seinfeld definitely goes up as one of my favorite TV shows ever. I saw the Soup Nazi guy at a food expo, it was pretty random since he only played the character of a chef...

Seinfeld is the shit, and anyone that says otherwise should be put up against the wall. ;)

put me against the wall then: http://www.revleft.com/vb/seinfeld-t129500/index.html

Incorrect, the discussion you posted was pointing out the inherent Anti-Capitalism emitting from the show. I simply asked if there was a large faction that liked Seinfeld and or what they liked about it. Please do calm down.

It was OK for me, though I imagine it must have been hilarious in late 80s and early 90s. Gotta give it credit for being original.

I do but I will only watch it pirated, b/c Jerry is a huge Zionist. Is he really? Say it aint so Jerry. Larry David seems like he maybe has some familiarity with the left - he played a Communist Party member in "Radio Days". Then again, he's probably just a regular old Democrat supporter - his wife is doing Al Gore right? God, the excitement in that bedroom:rolleyes:.

I love Seinfeld.

Check out "It's always sunny in Philadelphia". It's like if the characters of seinfeld were sociopaths.

It's like if the characters of seinfeld were sociopaths.Seinfeld characters aren't sociopaths? I guess they rarely intentionally fucked people over. They were sort of like sociopaths of opportunity: something bad happens to someone else (like George's wife dies) but is good for the character and so the character is happy about it.

Always Sunny is the funniest fucking thing on TV atm.

But it's on and I'm also stoned, so the 2 are probably related to that answer.

I do all my posting from Robert Mugabe's personal guest suite in Pyongyang. I thought everybody knew that. (Fucking everything is pirated here! They just sent over the next season of Dr. Who and it hasn't even been filmed yet!)

ELAINE: Just because you're a communist, does that mean you can't wear anything nice? You look like Trotsky. It's gorgeous. Fine, you want to be a Communist, be a Communist. Can't you at least look like a successful Communist?
