Though I am not a big fan and supporter of World Social Forum and the way it was running, but still we must acknowledge that they at least had been able to make a international platform for people like us, who like and want to "think different" from the so-called mainstream. And now, when it is perhaps already dead, we need another such international platform which will be bolder and can speak with much bravery before the imperialism.
I want other comments and information regarding that matter.

They've practically disbanded into more national and local groupings. Good riddance, especially in light of the new Fifth Socialist International.

Yes pretty much, the last big one I heard of was the 2007 one in Nairobi which received massive criticism for being overrun by NGOs and shutting out local people.
As I understand it local ones are still happening yeah.

Hardly.

The World Social Forum included socially reactionary elements, such as socially conservative Catholics who were given a platform to rant against neoliberalism.

I am not denying that but the '5th International' you are so keen on contains equally reactionary elements.

What happened to the "Social Forum movement?" Quite simply, Ford, the Rockerfellers, the government of Brazil, the government of France, Banco do Brasil, Oxfam, Christian Aid, and the United Nations and the rest of its sponsors found better ways to spend their money.

Wasn't I one of the first posters around here to raise this problem of "anti-imperialism"?
