Seems there are 5 unions that are on the verge of splitting from the AFL-CIO (if their proposals are not met). The author of this article, though not particularly radical it seems, suggests that this could boost the mainstream labor movement in this country. I stumbled on this page, to be honest, and I'm looking into the situation more myself.
Any thoughts?

For the "Smartest anarchist on RL," it seems you don't know a god damn thing about the labor movement.

this is an invasion and Zoster, neither of your comments are appropriate. Do not continue.

We radicals certainly aren't apt to bring others into the fold and spread our movement terrestrially, are we?

Now, I don't think when Jesus said, "turn the other cheek", he was referring to your anus.

That name, smartist anarchist on RL, was from about a year ago and I just put it up to piss someone off (who, I can't remember). I'm actually not an anarchist anymore, I should really change that (I've barely posted here in quite a while, except for a few sporadic posts in the last 3 weeks).
Anyway, yes actually for the last 9 months I have been rather ignorant of the current situation. I developed a debilitating heroin addiction that I just recently beat, and I've been getting back into things slowly. When I was out using I didn't have much mental ability or time to pay attention to the things I once (and now again) loved. It's actually a really sad turn of events.
Thanks for your productive and useful contributions guys :)
Good to see not a damn thing has changed on this site, there will always be those who are so eager to score a cheap shot and display how intelligent and elite they are by taking their chance to tear someone apart for a simple mistake, rather than help inform people about the truth (I thought that was the purpose of this site, at least partially?).
Anyway, never mind this thread then, unless someone wants to point me in the direction of some articles analyzing the impact of this split.
