So I've been a member on here for a while now but never really got active. As such every time I do get on here it tells me I need to make one of these so I'm doing so. This time however I'm hoping to become active and learn all that I can while I'm here to help develop my philosophical stance. If I had to name a tendency it would be anarcho-primitivist but I have opinions on every issue that may or may not conform to this one philosophy. So anyway if anyone wants to ask me something go for it. I realized my account name already violates the personal information rule but oh well. I have nothing to hide and if you do then don't tell me. Seems fairly simple.
In what way do you regard yourself as a primitivist?
Welcome.

Hey Q I forgot Johnny told me you were a mod here. I think technology creates alienation from the self and from personal relationships and from true human nature. I don't advocate the collapse of civilization and the death of millions, rather a gradual return to primitive hunter-gatherer lifestyles. I've kinda got a system in my head for how and why this happens but that's the part that I can't fully find all the words to explain yet and what I'm hoping to turn into my own book as I learn more and become better able to describe it.

Well to be fair he's off collecting berries and running from large mammals somewhere right now.
With any luck he'll invent stone tools.
With any luck he'll invent stone tools.
That's too alienating!
Oh alright. Gnawing small furry animals it is.

And if some humans are content being "alienated" from their true nature?

Well then I guess that's communism down the drain.

To be fair, he has to live in a technological world the same way we have to live in capitalism.

Yeah but he is in Oklahoma.
Are there any Native American reservations in Oklahoma?

Technology can and often is alienating, but it doesn't have to be. Technology has averted or completely shielded us from a lot of human tragedies. So I think a more nuanced approach is needed.
