I recall having heard somewhere recently the term that jobs would be totally ill-demanding in Communism, and that jobs themselves would only be performed when the situation arises. I get the ill-demanding part, but as for labor arising when necessary...I would think it be necessary all the time, no? Clarification would be appreciated. By the way, does it have anything to do with super-abundance?

Think of supply/demand. For example a logging company in in a capitalist system would long trees every day, if demand fell below supply then an employee would be let off thus decreasing the speed of the labour and lowering the supply to meet the demand. Where in a communist system trees would be logged only when needed. If there were no logs needed for several months then there would be need to log for several months.

I'm no expert but that's how I see it working.
