hey guys, long time lurker first time poster. ive been thinking alot about solar energy and getting a foothold in the renewable energy business in general as a way of financially supporting an upstart workers movement.
if lets say we found a way to pay for the start up cost(ive got plans) of a large solar farm (land materials labor etc) would it be a feasible way of supplying the party with a "legal" source of cash flow?
the market is there and there is a huge demand for more eco friendly sources of energy

I don't think monetary support is what's stopping a worker's movement. I'm not sure what you mean by an 'upstart workers movement' and how a large solar field array would benefit or tie things together. I'm interested though.

its a sad but basic fact of life... you cant get anything done in todays world without monetary backing, i come from a family of electricians and construction workers who are all sitting around un-employed and pissed.
recently me and my father have been talking about getting the "clan" together to start a business of sorts.
i figure we build a solar farm (my dad is certified in this area) and depending on how profitable it is use the funds to give some more laid off workers some much needed work building other similar projects.
im hoping for a type of snowball effect.

I like the idea. I'm a big fan of running with seemingly spontaneous and large enough to be life changing ideas and taking them as far as they can. It seems doable. What are the risks and barriers?

if you can do that without borrowing gigantic sum of money, go for it.
maybe if you send a mail to david suzuki, he will help.

What are the start up costs?
Do you have a business plan?
Marketing plan (research, strategy, management)?
Operations plan (legal structure, management)?
Financial data (sales projections, profit & loss forecast)?
There is potential but the sums must add up.
