what is more worrying is all the comments on the first article.

Exactly. What is that garbage? I'd heard of the overt racism and chauvinistic jingoism in Japan, but really?

I went through and read the comments on this article. It is filled with people praising the manga and saying Hitler was a great man with a glorious vision. x(
I fucking hate Nazis and Nazi sympathizers. I can't believe enough of them exist to allow this manga any chance to be profitable.

I agree with that Bertrand person. I'm not surprised in the bit, as the Japanese have a different attitude toward Hitler and Nazi Germany. I think Asia in general does, even. There's a Korean restaurant that's themed after the Third Reich, where the waiters and waitresses are dressed like SS officers.

Is this different attitude from a lack of education on the issue?

Perhaps it's because it's some comments on an online article? It's not like those have ever been representative of the general population's politics.

True. Hopefully it is just typical internet stupidity and not a general trend of thought in the Japanese populace.
Asian white pride... makes sense to me...

hmm, it wasn't too long ago that I read an article from Der Spiegel that said that neonazism was on the rise in Germany again... Though, if the claims in the article about wanting to just portray Hitler's screwed up personality were true, then making Mein Kampf into a manga wouldn't be too revolting. However, from the images that I've seen and from other things I've heard, the manga glorifies Mein Kampf... if the manga makes its way to America, I might read it just to form a solidified opinion since I'm not big into jumping on opinionated band wagons... also, if they were to form an anime from this manga that would just be.... yeah..... One has to wonder if it is the constant republishing of this crap or if it is something else that is causing antisemitism, other forms of racism, and forms of nationalism to arise again...:bored:
