Ok so for arguments sake you click your fingers and a/your country in this current world has a communist/socialist government in power with (near) full support from the people, so how would you see this country's economy changed from the current free(ish), if some banks are already nationalised ;) , capitalist economy to a socialist one?
How could the country make sure that it doesn't end up having a new ruling class and the workers have no control over the means of production?
I seem to be going round in circles in my head about this and so wanted to see what other people think.
cheers

You set it up right in the first place. You don't create the kind of political system where leaders are handed unlimited power. You don't establish any political job called the glorious leader and then place someone into that job. It never "eventually turns out" that the workers have no control over the means of production. If the workers later have no control over the means of production then they didn't have it on the first day either. If they really had it, there would be no way to lose it.
