There are some left people that dont believe in the military option as a way to defeat the capitalism system but I think that eventually that would be the only way to defeat the imperialism because their interest and power are so high that they would never let it go in a peaceful way.
To support my political view I have a recent example, last year Honduras suffer a military coup because the ex President Manuel Zelaya (originally liberal but change to socialist) was promoting a couple of change to the constitution in benefit of the poorest people. And as a truly revolutionary he wanted to make changes in the right way, asking the people if they wanted to be asked during the next elections about changing some articles from the constitution.
The people from Honduras could said no to the consulting and even if they say yes, the elaboration of the project could take years in the assemble since the majority its right wing but the rich and powerful people didnt wanted to take the minimal risk and sent their gorillas to assault the president residence, kidnap him and send him to Costa Rica with the warning that if he ever come back he would be arrested.
The people went out to the streets during several days to protest, some of them were even killed by the gorillas and since the gorillas were trained by the U.S.A in the famousSchool of the Americas they never stop backing up the coup and Im pretty sure they were proud about it.
Now the country is in a relative calm, new elections were done and the slightly hope of change for the Honduras people were violent sepultated.
So what is the point of being a blinded pacifist utopist, the war it is necessary sometimes to defend the revolution,
