View Full Version : Fascist death threats and a fascist identified

The following was sent to the main address of the Communist League today:

As a retired military officer and now a business owner, I understand your position. You folks are incompentent and can't make it in the real world. So, due to your inability to learn and deal with your own issues, you must blame someone. Wouldn't it be much easier to leave and go to a communist country. You must know, as long as patriots like me, trained assasins for the US government, are alive, your communist agenda will never gain traction. I will fight you to my last breath.

My God Bless Us with your departure.

The would-be "assasins" of League members was kind enough to use his name, Barry D. Todd.

It took about 15 minutes on Google to find this guy. He is the CEO of BDT Enterprises, a financial-planning company in Yuma, Arizona. Before entering the exciting world of financial planning, he was an Army Ranger for 21 years. I tend to think Todd wanted us to know who he was; he seems to have the requisite level of arrogance for it.

If you're interested in registering your displeasure at Mr. Todd's death threats against League members, you can call BDT Enterprises at (928) 344-8000, or visit the offices of BDT, 2615 E 24th St, Ste 2, Yuma, AZ 85365. If I get more information, I'll post it here.

The following is the reply of the League's C.C. Bureau to Mr. Todd:

Dear sir,

It is with great interest that we choose to write in reply to your comment and blatant death threat, sent in the early hours of this morning.

Normally, we would just pin up comments like yours on our FYI bulletin board for our members to laugh at. After all, there is nothing that can stir the depths of one's humor like an obviously alcohol-fueled rant by an ignorant teabagging fascist. But you, sir, crossed a line by issuing a threat against the lives of our members, and that warrants a specific response.

First, for the record, one should never lecture on competence or incompetence when one cannot even spell the word properly. For us, it is not a matter of competence; it is a matter of principle. Many of us could have chosen lucrative fields and careers, but we are proud to be workers -- the true producers of society -- and we have no interest in betraying our class. So, we have chosen to "make it" in our own ways, as both workers and revolutionaries. The fact that you feel threatened enough by us to issue a death threat against our members shows that, indeed, we are "making it in the real world".

We don't blame anyone for anything. We have no reason to hold or issue such blame. This is not about petty moralism or whiny "what about me?" sulking. This is about building a better world for the working majority of humanity. As your life has been that of a professional murderer ("trained assassin") and parasite ("financial planner"), we understand that you have no regard for your fellow human being, only their money or whatever object of value your masters told you they have. Likewise, it is clear to us that your inability to think for yourself means you have no choice but to reduce the world to simplistic and childish "either-or" situations requiring "heroes" and "evil-doers" -- those to blame and those who are blameless.

Now, Mr. Todd, as to your threat against us, it is clear that, after 21 years in the Army, including as a Ranger, we're sure that, in theory, you can make good on your desire to assassinate any of our members. But while committing such an act may sound good in theory, it won't work in the real world. Let us put it another way: For an Army Ranger, you sure did a horrible job covering your tracks. It took us only a few minutes to find out everything we need to know about you, and we have already passed all of your information on to our security forces.

However, at this time, we have no interest in playing your game. As long as your threat remains the idle rambling of a drunken fool, we don't care about your comings and goings in Yuma. But if any of our members are physically targeted by your teabagging Nativist fascist friends, we will hold you personally responsible. You rightwingers like "personal responsibility". Let's see how you like this one. And don't get all whiny with us about this; you invited this by threatening to assassinate members of our organization. Wear your albatross proudly.

As for whether or not our views will "gain traction", all the trained assassins in the world could not stop that. You can kill people, but you cannot kill principles and ideas. Of course, that won't stop you Ku Klux Konservatives from resorting to terrorism -- bombing buildings, assassinating individuals, etc. -- to try to stem the tide.

We will meet you when we are ready to meet you, and not before. And when we arrive, we will not be alone.

This was my favorite part:
So, due to your inability to learn and deal with your own issues, you must blame someone.

Dear Mr. Todd
Inability to learn? You mean like when you put 30 years of faith in the market and the idea that if you let the rich do what they want, we will all benefit... only to discover that it has led to the worsening of working class (I think you call it middle class) living standards, the environment, and even the world economy itself!

You must blame someone? You mean like immigrants, workers with pensions, industrial union members, public sector unions, blacks (because of their inferior "culture" not their inferior race, of course - you're not an anachronistic racist), unwed mothers, "welfare queens", LGBT marriages, gays in the military, "these damn kids today", hip-hop, arabs, Islam, Asian drivers, feminazis, sick people who need health care, newfangled gadgets and on and on? You know mostly the people who do not control the economy or make any decisions about how society works and have no influence over politicians.

My God, how dare WE RADICALS blame big business for the way the economy works (or doesn't for workers)! Where did we get the idea that the people who run things are responsible for how things are run!

I'm considering calling the Yuma Police Department, see if I can get this bastard in trouble.

Although it sounds serious, I get the feeling that this guy doesn't have the guts to go through with any assassination anyway. He hardly covered up his tracks, and seems to be too ready to threaten people. Most likely just another Internet hardman, although I would still strongly consider getting the authorities involved.

No mercy for pigs. Especially imperialist pigs. The Army Rangers are America's top death squad who are actually zealous and eager to kill and maim civilians as long as the plutocrats demand it. They are different from the regular army because they're more likely to have been brainwashed. Just give them a sword and a nicer uniform and suddenly they are American heroes. Normally, you would consider soldiers oppressed but seeing as this is a country that abolished the draft (and took their sweet time doing it) that's no longer correct.

Nope. Nothing yet (unless something came in within the last few hours). If he does write back, we'll continue posting the exchange.

Even if bringing in the cops was principled in a case like this, it would be pointless. Neither the Yuma police nor the FBI would care, and they would be more likely to sympathize with Mr. Todd.

As it is, I think we handled it pretty well. The fact is that we can reach Mr. Todd much easier than he can reach any of the leading members of the League (who would be his prime targets). In that sense, he knows we have an advantage there. That may be our best deterrent right now. Mr. Todd is someone who has the skills and abilities to carry out his threat (Rangers usually back up their threats), but I don't think he anticipated the reply he received. I really think he was expecting us to cower and cry (seriously!). In this sense, the reply also serves a counter-propaganda role, since I think we've shattered his illusions about us "communist revolutionaries". But, generally speaking, I think the stating of some of his identifying information in the reply was enough to cause him to stop and think.

Anyway, if there's one thing we do love, it is our hate mail.

He probably just had some extra adrenaline to burn after he saw The A-Team.

Personally, as a non-snitch, I respond to threats of violence or death with extremely graphic reciprocation, detailing the way I'll gut attackers like fish with a pitchfork, electrocute their flesh into raw meat, spike them through one of the Watts Towers, etc. ;)

Don't fuck up the Watts Towers!

Make him sit shotgun without a seat-belt while Charlie Sheen gives him a tour of Laural Canyon immediately after doing a speedball.

I once rode my bike north on Lauren Canyon through the Hollywood Hills. The majority of the time was crashing through the shrubbery on the side of the road and waiting for opportune moments to sprint to the other side, where there was a little more cover from the whizzing traffic. My mom makes fun of this story since she learned to drive on Mullholland Drive, but there's no experience like riding through.
