But Nine Inch Nails is a great band to listen to and their music lyrics are fucking insane. Check out the Year Zero album, non-listeners. Anyone else listen to NIN?!

No, actually I don't. Reznor has a band, silly! Hence how everything gets played without the synth. In the beginning I think he was more a one-man-act, but it seems his more recent stuff involves more band members. Compare 'Something I Can Never Have' with 'The Hand That Feeds'.

Yeah, but Trent pretty much writes everything and calls the shots.
Anyways, I used to loooooove NIN. I still like them very much - one of the best live shows ever - but they're definitely not as good if you look at them as an "industrial/industrial rock" band. Not enough glitchy electronic-ness... the closest he came in recent years was with "The Great Destroyer"

Helios+, I must agree. And yes, they've broken up ages ago from touring and I think Reznor made it clear he was done for a while. If not for good. But NIN remains one of my favorite bands to date. And yeah, if you look at them genre-wise they're kinda choppy, but I don't. I just listen to what I like and don't worry about genres :)

Yeah. It's called How to Destroy Angels. It's pretty good too. (sounds like NIN with female vocals). You can download the first EP for free on their website. There's even a video out already.

Al Jourgensen owns Trent Reznor.

Can't really say its a good comparison. Trent Reznor is a much better artist alltogether though. Al Jourgensen cant sing for shit.

I'm quite unsure of who is Al whatever-the-fuck-his last-name-is, is. But I can assure you Reznor will 'own' him in mere terms of musical quality and message. Accompany this with his originality, his emotion-filled songs and his knack for creating instrumentals that have the ability to make you lose yourself, I'd like to think NIN wins this.

I've always liked Trent Reznor and I've been listening to NIN for a while. I'm not a nut though like some NIN fans are, you know.

Uncle Al doesn't sing, he plays the vocal cords. Reznor milks off the same lyrics.

I don't think Ministry's style of music really calls for 'singing.' Besides, his distorted vocals are awesome.
It's like saying a death metal band's vocalist sucks at "singing." They're not supposed to!

It's two different genres of music. NIN is more rock, Ministry is more balls-to-the-wall industrial metal. Plus, I would say Ministry is way more political than NIN, as much as I like them.

Hmm, I trust your opinion as some of what you said I am ignorant about. And I agree with the entire metal-band-singing thing. I do like Reznor's political songs however. His lyrics don't disclose the full idea of what he means to say. You have to think and can interpretate his music in this way. It makes his music ... almost deeper for me. Look at Capital G, haha.
Well since I'm so bored, and considering we're on the subject a bit, post some lyrics from NIN or Ministry if you like, that you like. Political ones preferably. I think we've to keep this relevent with Revleft :p
What if this whole crusade's a charade?
And behind it all there's a price to pay?

If this is really living
Why am I so unforgiving
Half the world is down the toilet
Half on it's way.
Well if I had a dollar for
Everytime he hollers:
"Trust us with your hearts and minds"
Or I'll make you pay
TRUST ME
Ask me why your feeling screwed
And I'll give you an answer
There's a Colin, Dick and Bush
Justa hammerin' away
Ask me why you feel decived
And stripped of all your liberties
It doesn't take a genius
To explain that today
TRUST ME

For the record I really like Ministry, I saw their last tour in 2008 and it was great. Yes, Al deliberately distorts his vocals, but that does not mean he is more talented.
NIN is very political aswell the last few years. "Year Zero" being the most obvious example.

I'm not saying he's more talented, but it's not that he sucks at singing or anything.
I saw their last tour as well! It was soo good... Burton from Fear Factory did guest vocals on almost half the songs

I might think he actually could sing better if he tried. Atleast he did sing reasonably good at, you guessed it, the 'With Sympathy' album, which ironically became irreversible that thing that other bands become later on. Going from commercial 'sell outs' (note that this was their first album meaning they didn't sell out their 'roots' to anyone) to totally awesome.
Though I might add that even singing covers like Louis Armstrong's 'what a wonderful world' is not going very well for Al
