Some companies are trying to get their hands on them, but it is unlikely they will be around anytime soon.
And when I say soon I mean soon like 7 days.

They're not that difficult to get.
I know where to get them in the U.S. but that's not going to help you much.
Legea (http://www.legea.it) makes their jerseys.
You can email Daniela Antonetti at
[email protected] with your location and she'll tell you who distributes them in your country.

There is a large Korean community in Japan, and most of them are allied with the DPRK (ie, they are North Koreans). Because Japan is much more into football than DPRK I guess it's left up to the Japan-based Koreans to do a lot of the organising. 3 of the DPRK world cup team are from Japan, and I tihnk the only people going to South Africa to watch them are the Japanese-Koreans.

IIRC there are a lot of Koreans in Japan due to the Japanese occupation etc who are/were pro DPRK. (Lots left Japan for the DPRK after WW2, instead of ROK.) Maybe its them, i dno.

Many of the Koreans in Japan are citizens of the DPRK. After the war, Koreans in Japan could chose their country of citizenship. At the time, many Koreans in the north and south preferred the north because of its independence from Japan and the U.S. (which smashed the government Koreans set up on their own after the Japanese occupation, protected Japanese collaborators, destroyed the country with bombs, etc.). It's also important to remember that the north was more economically advanced than the south from the time of the war until the "Socialist Bloc" began to crumble in the 1980's.

I would never spend that much on a celtic or arsenal or cliftonville jersey or even a belfast celtic one... and surely it goes against your socialist beliefs to spend that much on a jersey brought off fucking ebay? If you really wanted to get one, why didn't you just contact the manufacturer?

Since when was spending large amounts of money contrary to socialist beliefs? We're not primmies, lifestyle anarchists or freegans, we're human beings, consumers.

If it did, there would be pretty faulty logic at play. In a way, buy anything goes against socialist beliefs (but we do because we're not freegans), to qualify that by making a statement like "only something that costs x amount of dollars is reasonable to me as a socialist" makes no sense. I certainly wouldn't ever spend that much on a soccer jersey, but it's not my place to criticize someone for it.
That whole "it's against socialism to buy stuff" argument gets pretty tiring.

I wanted to make a stereotypical comment about Americans, but then I was reminded of the many cool American soccer fans here on Revleft who don't think like that.
I guess we can chalk this one down to plain old idiocy.

I'm not against buying football jerseys, I just don't see why anyone would spend that much on a jersey still in current issue other than to get it before anyone else I guess? I'm not against buying clothes that are well made and worth buying... but that much on a fucking football jersey? I have better things to spend my money on.

I wouldn't buy a $130 shirt very quickly either, but people do tend to spend large amounts of money on overpriced items for comfort or as collector's items. It really seems like a pointless thing to condemn.
What is the use in trying to appear more devout than the pope? If I suddenly get €500, I'll also put half of it in the bank and spend the rest on fun things. And the former probably makes me more fiscally conservative than most people I know, who would probably spend all the €500 on jeans that cost €100-150 per pair.
I'm not about to give a lecture along the lines of, "Just do what you want, maaan, nothing matters, just consume, consume, consume," but I really don't have a problem with someone shelling out so much money for one shirt.

I'm not trying to appear more holy than anyone. But I don't see why I shouldn't the piss out of someones purchases if I feel like, theres no real harm ment. I hardly dress like a monk, I buy good clothes.. even shock horror, labels sometimes. I just think some of the purchases that get paraded about on here in clothes threads are a little over the top, so I say so?

I got one for 50 bucks, still pricey but a far cry from the 130 the seller that was linked is selling them for.

I like this site, they have other good stuff as well.
It's pretty much the same, they have the same kind of jersey made by different manufacturers. The new one is practically impossible to get unless you get it from Legea directly, even them I'm not sure on the price.
