I don't mean when people like to spout "OMG COMMUNIZM = EVRI1 DIED", but rather people who haven't the foggiest idea of what the concepts even mean. I'm a teenager, and most of today's youth aren't exactly politically savvy or down with Marxism, but it's not as if I'm surrounded by thirteen-year-olds, and yet nearly all of my peers have little to no idea about the wide spectrum of lefty ideas. Before I became a socialist, I knew what socialism/communism were, if only on a very basic level. So tell me, do I just live in a really thick area or are there a lot of instances where this goes on?

One of the questions I get asked most often by my peers when they find out I'm 'in to politics' is 'what's the difference between left-wing and right-wing?', and that's a long way from even grasping rudimentary socialism. You're not alone Headmaster Ritual.
