Howdy commies, I am in Mexico right now in some internet shop thing down the street from the house I am staying at. This is one of the strangest and most interesting experiences of my life...
This morning a patrol of 20 or so soldiers with automatic rifles went through the street, apparently looking for someone selling weed...
the police here all have a pretty hefty looking amount of body armor on them.
Still, I canīt get over the 5 inch roaches, these things creep me the fuck out

The military going through the streets was a fairly common occurence during my visits to Mexico...although moreso in the 90's than recently, it seems.

What state are you in?

Yeah, military patrols are common. It's a combination of drug cartels and unrest(especially in southern Mexico).

DRAGONFLIES
Hahaha, Dragonflies is one of the most peacefull insects out there, we have plenty of them in denmark. it would be worse to see a 4 inch FLY. or MOSQUITO. OR EVEN WORSE GIANT HORSEFLIES OR GIANT WASPS.
we have some pretty big Wasps in denmark,

Giant wasps, centipedes, and spiders top the list of things I'd probably faint from having land on me.

I went to Denmark during the summer once. I didn't really notice any big insects, but there were certainly a lot of flies in the house during the day.

Also, on the last day, I got stung in the middle finger of my right hand by some kind of creature. It caused so much swelling that giving someone the finger would have an added horror effect.

The Military Patrols are due to the fact of the situation the US is forcing upon Mexico with their war on drugs combined with the Mexican Government simply acting as a proxy state for the US and pushing down a corrupt form of Capitalism even by the definition of Capitalism on the Mexican Proletariat. :(

What are Japanese giant hornets doing in Denmark?

Comrade B

I couldn't help thinking of three things while I was in Mexico
1. Why the fuck does the government care so much about drugs when there are so many problems in general in the country
2. The amount of effort that Mexico puts into fighting trafficking in comparison to the US shows how little respect the US has for other countries
3. It is interesting to see the images the US likes to show trying to make Cuba look so incredibly poor, meanwhile these images seem to reflect a living style similar to that of most of the urban (not that it is neccissary to really say this, being that my experiences with rural Mexico showed no thing near a middle class) middle class of Mexico.

its a giant wasp and it can be from 3-6 cm average, but some of them has also been spotted as 10 cm.
their stings are 10 times more dangerous then the average wasp.

1. Can't you see that the issues in Mexico are simply being thrown into the issue of drugs? They're using the issue of trafficking, distribution and production of drugs in Mexico as the major issue of Mexico due to the fact that the United States has been attempting to get the Mexican government to crack down on these issues there for years in order to gain more control in Mexican politics which in return as caused Cartels to come into major power among local populations due to the profitability of the drugs in Mexico being pumped into the US.
2. The US has been pushing their influence into 'stopping trafficking' in countries such as Columbia and Mexico for quite some time. In reality it has nothing to do with trafficking at all, its a simple excuse to gain more influence in Mexico and stomp on the rights of other independent nations. Think about it-- when you can use the argument of drug trafficking as a reason to get involved in the politics, police force and military force of said nation that erases the entire idea of borders and allows you to act freely anywhere and at any time against said countries.
3. Most Latin American countries are very impoverished nations thus the common people in Latin America lack the life style of their Bourgoise counterparts.

For some reason I find a bee of that size to be really cute.
If they sting you, how damaging is it?

its not a bee. its a wasp. Bees are really cute, and they make honey to their best friends the humans, they would never sting a human if the human doesn't provoke the bee. But a wasp is a totally different thing, it eats meat and it likes candy, not like the bee that only likes flowers. The wasp can also attack humans late summer when there is not enough food in the nature left for it, they start hunting people, and they will sting you just for the fun of it.
Some people are allergic to wasps poison. but normal people should just watch out not to be stinged in the neck, they should also watch out not to swallow a wasp, if it for example sneaks on to your jam-sandwich or it falls into your soda. the giant wasps are less aggressive towards humans then normal wasps but they are still very aggressive compared to normal uncorrupted animals like bees and butterflies. And some years there can be REALLY many wasps, this year we are lucky there are almost no wasps because the winther has been long, but 2 years ago there was so extremly many wasps, if we had the door open there would allways be minimum 10 in the window, banging their head on the glass trying to get out, becomming more and more aggressive. i've been stung alot of times and it hurts really much, your finger grows to the dubble size and it hurts for many days, like boiling water.

European hornets are often mischaracterised as very aggressive and dangerous, and are greatly feared by some people. Some people believe that "three stings from the European hornet can kill an adult human, and that seven can kill a horse". These are common myths - a sting from a European hornet isn't any more dangerous than any other wasp sting, and European hornets are less aggressive than other wasps. In contrast, multiple Asian giant hornets (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_giant_hornet) stings are, in fact, more dangerous. The asian giant hornets kills 50 people a year in Japan, that's more casualties than all other animals cause combined.

Take that, you sissy European hornets!

its not a myth, the truth is that the giant wasps has more poison then the normal wasp, but its still the same poison, just 10 times more.

Once I saw what I would say is some sort of documentary of subcultures among Cuban youths. It was shown in some gusano TV station while I was in Miami and the film critics gave some idiotic socio-political analysis on why there was these goth, statanists, egoists, whatever kids in Cuba. It was idiotic because they say it was some "symptom of the system" yet those same types of subcultures I could find in the U.S., in Miami itself.

What interested me was the way they dress, their surroundings, etc. They looked like low middle-class kids from Miami, in fact when I saw the documentary I thought it was probably in Hialeah.

On the drugs...well the U.S. imports its drug war to other countries. Politicians who are for the ratching up of the drug war tend to be pro-U.S. puppets.
