This took place on facebook, in the comments on one of my notes on why I support a woman's right to have an abortion.

Them:

if your get prego then you should keep the baby not kill it. its the mothres fault that she get prego

Me:

But it's silly to look at it in such a way. Women are going to get unwanted pregnancies no matter what, and they WILL seek dangerous illegal abortions if abortion is not legal. Roe vs. Wade was a huge victory for female health and has drastically reduced pregnancy-related health issues. 24,000 children (actual children, not unborn fetuses) die every day due to global poverty. If you think abortion is such a big deal, you need to rearrange your priorities.

Them:

well i think my priorities are just fine and i did know that and i help with a campaign for that and i cant help that those kids moms and dads are 9 times out of 10 drug heads and they choice that way to live. but abortion is still murder.

How do I even begin to respond to this utter ignorance?

By telling her you believe that the best alternative to abortion is mandatory sterilization, starting with her. Or you could put it more politely. Tell her 'If you're against abortion, don't have one. And learn to mind your own fucking business.'

"1. You want to force "drug heads" to raise children they didn't want in the first place? Great logic, retard.

2. Murder = Unlawful Killing. Abortion = Lawful. Therefore Abortion ≠ Murder. So yeah, wrong again, retard."

Then I'd conclude with:

"Reading the shit you've just bashed away on your keyboard makes me more in favour of abortion."
