Can you sleep with earplugs? I snore and my gf wears earplugs when i stay at her place... she says it works well. While you're probably not sleeping in the same bed as your roommate, the same idea applies. Try buying the softer kind, or your ear canals will be sore.

I personally can't sleep with earplugs, as the sound of my own pulse in my head keeps me up

As opposed to getting arresrted...Ear plugs for yourself? Hot chocolate? Camomille tea?

Lying on ones back sometimes is the culprit, so tip them on their side one night and see if that helps.

you could ask him nicely to wear one of those noseclips that stops the snoring. I dont know what they're called but any good chemist should have them.

If you're using a communal building and youre desperate for sleep you could try bedding down in another room i suppose.

Sleep in the bathroom. I've been pushed that far before.

I'm hoping this doesn't happen to me when I go to college. Snoring is one of my biggest pet peeves.

you may also want to suggest a doctors visit for him, if its really bad there could be underlying problems such as sleep apnea.

For you: try white noise (a running fan, static from radio/TV, air conditioner), putting a blanket over the door, earplugs.

For them: the first two, plus the nose strips that open the nasal passages (if the snoring is nasal) or one of those mouthpieces that pulls the jaw forward enough to keep the throat and sinus passages open (if the snoring is sinus).

You seem fairly well-versed in anti-snoring techniques

Get a raido, turn it on loudly to the stactic

it'd be hard to get to sleep at first, but it'll become easier soon enough.

its not that keeps you awake, its noise that wasn't there before and so alerts you to a change in the environment.

Both my wife and I snore, but for different reasons (me: apnea; her: broken nose from anti-fascist activity). Knowing what to do about snoring is a necessity in our house.

A box of breeze nose rings might help or an appointment with a doctor of Ears, Nose, and Throat, ENT could get rods inserted into soft pallet in back roof of mouth to stop or lighten the ZZZZZ sound.

Interesting haha! I've been meaning to try the strips, although I'm not sure what type of snoring I am afflicted with. Did you see a doctor to find this stuff out?
