From Wiki:

Sweet Movie (1974) is a film by the Yugoslavian director Dušan Makavejev (http://www.revleft.com/wiki/Du%C5%A1an_Makavejev), following his 1971 W.R.: Mysteries of the Organism (http://www.revleft.com/wiki/W.R.:_Mysteries_of_the_Organism). The film follows two women: a Canadian beauty queen, who represents a modern commodity culture, and a captain aboard a ship laden with candy and sugar, who is failed communist revolutionary. Director of photography is Pierre Lhomme (http://www.revleft.com/wiki/Pierre_Lhomme). The film's music is composed by Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis (http://www.revleft.com/wiki/Manos_Hadjidakis).

The film created a storm of controversy upon its release. With simulated (and unsimulated) scenes of coprophilia (http://www.revleft.com/wiki/Coprophilia), emetophilia (http://www.revleft.com/wiki/Emetophilia), fondling, and footage of remains of the Polish Katyn Massacre (http://www.revleft.com/wiki/Katyn_Massacre) victims. The film was banned in many countries, or severely cut. It is still banned in many countries to this day. The film was nearly impossible to find since its initial release in 1974, but Criterion released the film on DVD in a region 1 DVD (http://www.revleft.com/wiki/DVD_region_code) on June 19, 2007.

I recently saw this. It's a pretty crazy art film.

Has anyone else seen it?

.
I have it.
I don't like it very much. Most people don't, but it certainly has a cult following.

Makavjev has made some good movies: Love Affair, or the Case of the Missing Switchboard Operator, Man is Not a Bird, Innocence Unprotected and WR: the Mysteries of the Organism are all very good movies, with WR and Innocence Unprotected making creative use of Sergei Eisenstein's montage theories.
