《The Bridges of Madison County》

Nobody understands when a woman makes a choice to marry and have children, in one way

her life begins, but in another way, it stops. You build a life of details, and you just stop

and stay steady, so that your children can move. And when they leave, they take your life of details

with them. You are expected to move on again, but you don't remember what it was that moved you, because no one's asked you in so long. Not even yourself.

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I want to keep it forever,I want to love you the way I do now for the rest of my life.

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't make an entier life disappear to start a new one.

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All I can do is try to hold on to both of us somewhere inside of me.

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm coming to you as you coming to me for so long. Although we haven't know each other before the date.

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This kind of certainty comes once in a lifetime.

  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seems right now, that all I have done in my life was making my way here to you.

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The true love belongs to the adults.

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Love is magic, but without responsibility, its magic will gone.

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Love won't obey our expectation. Its mystery is pure and absolute.

I believe a lot of those lines are originally from the book written by Robert Weller in 92.

Funny that I've travelled to Madison county, Iowa, on more than one occasion but have never gone to the bridges, much less read the book or the seen the movie. However, I should probably get around at least to one of them.

I've also removed the link to the movie. In the future let's be more careful with those stuff, folks:

I haven't read the book, enjoyed the movie, and was transported back in time when I actually saw a couple of the bridges with my own eyes.

Funny that I just thought of this movie yesterday, good stuff.

I have a A Thousand Country Roads (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Thousand_Country_Roads): (of course, is translated into Chinese); relative to the film, I like reading novels themselves.I will continue to buy his book, because I like his style.

I hated The Bridges of Madison County. It's a schmaltzy, melodramatic piece of crap that romanticizes infidelity. You ask me, the female lead made her bed, she can fucking well lie in it.

I think you do not understand the literature. Is this a simple affair outside of marriage, the story? Have you ever seen a series of works by Robert James Waller may have a better understanding of his creative approach. This is an attitude on the issue of ordinary life. If you only see the description of the book, it can only show you too a lack of appreciation of modern literary standards slightly. I read a lot of classic works of literature at all times.;)

Yeahhh, but infidelity is still the central part of the narrative. I'm not trying to be sexist or anything, but I've been cheated on and I can't say I appreciated it very much. A decent human being would have the common courtesy to break up with his/her current partner before sleeping with someone else. Period. But then again, people behaving respectably rarely puts asses in theatre seats.

Anyway, I do have a firm grasp of classic literature. I've read all kinds of it. But the kind you are talking about, which is in the same vein as Wuthering Heights, The Scarlet Letter, Jane Eyre, Great Expectations, I've read them all in school and hated every page. The only difference, apart from the time period in which they are set, is that in The Bridges of Madison County, the couple of primary concern actually have sex. It's boring, portentous crap.

I think you should re-look at Robert James Waller
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_James_Waller
, several of his novels have always been continuity. Both contain the fate of ordinary people on the meaning of resistance. Sexual description in contemporary literature in the East is not surprising. I suggest that you can read Japanese writer
