People's counterattack against all aspects of capitalist barbarity

In Greece there are ongoing reactions against the brutal murderous attack of the government and state of Israel on the ships of the solidarity mission sailing to Gaza. The All Militant Workers’ Front (PAME) organised massive and dynamic demonstrations in Athens as well as in 55 cities throughout Greece. These demonstrations were initially scheduled as an answer to the new anti-labour measures of the Greek government that impose drastic cuts on pensions and abolish the collective labour agreements.

Nevertheless, after the recent developments, the demonstrations condemned both the new offensive of the social democrat government along with the EU and the IMF on the labour and social security rights of the people as well as the intensification of the imperialist Israeli aggressiveness.

The strengthening of the solidarity with the Palestinian people goes hand in hand with the strengthening of the struggle against the anti-people measures and the reinforcement of the struggle for people’s power, that constitutes the only answer to the capitalist barbarity.

The General Secretary of the CC of KKE, comrade Aleka Papariga, who participated in the demonstration stated: “the peoples must even more decisively play the leading role. The tragedy caused by the Israeli state and the tragedy of the coming measures are two sides of the same coin. For that reason, the peoples must continue in the course of counterattack”.

In Athens PAME protested outside the American and Israeli embassy.

Immediate denunciation of the crime and solidarity with the Palestinian people

The new imperialist Israeli crime against the ships carrying aid to Gaza met the immediate response of the young people of KNE who organised a demonstration yesterday afternoon outside the embassy of Israel.

Shouting slogans such as “people are not terrorists, the only terrorists are NATO and Israel” and they marched to the embassy of Israel, where they condemned the murderous Israeli actions and expressed their solidarity with the suffering Palestinian people. The march was headed by comrade Yannis Protoulis, Secretary of the CC of KNE and MP of KKE.

The representative of KNE denounced “the murderous attack of the Israeli army which is realised with the tolerance and the immunity granted by the US, the EU, the NATO and the other imperialist organizations”. He went on calling “the people, the workers and the youth to express their support and solidarity with the Palestinian people” and added: “we demand the stop of every involvement of our country in the imperialist plans in the region”.

The protesters condemned the stance of the Greek government whose objections to the slaughter restrict to the “extent of the violence exerted”. Furthermore, during the previous days the Greek government was holding joint air maneuvers with the Israeli army while it merely canceled the first stage of the maneuvers after the developments forced it to do so. The maneuvers are scheduled to continue at the end of June, in the framework of the enhancement of the relations of the Greek government with Israel, which is promoted both by the current PASOK government as well as by the previous one of ND. In addition, they are fully in line with the standards of the EU and its enhanced relations with the Israeli state as they are reflected in the common air-space of EU and Israel.

Only the people can intervene in these imperialist plans, agreements and rivalries and impose their rights without expecting anything from the imperialists, their organizations and the allegedly independent authorities.

PAME organizes today new demonstrations across the country against the anti-people offensive and the brutal slaughter at the open sea of Gaza expressing its support and solidarity with the Palestinian people.
