That broke the camel's back for Israel.

It may take some time but I think this incident will force Israel into taking some steps to recognize the Palestinians. It was a truly stupid act and it's setting the entire world up against Israel. Even the US (I believe) is going to take a harsh tone with them. My guess now that it's only a matter of time before the Israeli state has to give up some concessions.
It will be the beginning of the (long) process to single statehood.

Yes. It was so disadvantageous that I have to believe it was unplanned. Not the boarding of the vessel, but the hell that broke loose after somebody made a move or said something that spooked one of the sailors.
No matter. Israel will pay dear.

Well, the dilemma is on the knees of the USA right now. Which ally is the most important, Israel or Turkey? That is consequently why the USA is silent, since Israel this time has killed citizens from a fellow NATO country.

Yeah, anyone know how much defense aid the US is pumping into Israel these days? 30 million? Billion?
There have been so many incidents of foreign (From the US as well) activists getting killed over there that this should have happened a long time ago and they should reopen all of those investigations again.

My bet is that the USA will be very silent about this. Turkey is one of America's traditional allies.

Also, the US is trying to make friends with the Moslem world in general so they can get themselves out of Iraq without too much trouble, quiet things down in Afghanistan and build a world concensus against Iran. Israel squirrling around with Gaza is creating a large problem where it really isn't needed.
FWIW: this is all a product of internal Israeli politics--the hard Right wing is creating most of the problems here.

We're trying to thread the needle at the moment, decrying the violence but ambiguous in terms of blame.

The security council resolution will "break the camel's back"? Highly unlikely. These resolutions have been going on for decades.

If this is the actual event and not a video from a past event I'd like to say that I may have acted in a similar fashion if commandos were fast roping onto my boat with weapons.

UN resolutions are only as Strong as the Nations that back it compared to how weak the victim countries arm.

Keep in mind that the Israeli forces seized all the cameras.

a dual state solution isnt necessarilly the best solution for the palestinians. It will have the effect of legitimising and consolidating both the segregation and the israeli hegemony as well as giving israel a weaker neighbour which it can bully around and exploit cheap labour and goods out of. Thats before you even consider the elephant in the room of geographic contiguity~ the physical seperation of gaza from the west bank .The IDF could still harrass palestinian drivers crossing the border and who would control the airspace?I think a better solution would be a single, dual muslim/jewish state with equal rights for all (power sharing basically) but i cant really see israeli intransigence permitting this.
i really cant see a workable compromise because really the onus should be on israel but they wont back down on their theocratic pretences. If it was up to me, israel would be in the west not the middle east. The middle east is the most dangerous place if you are jewish which kindof defeats the whole purpose of there being an Israel.

i think the USA will stick by Israel come what may.
If Iran or Hezbollah suspect Israel is isolated, they may be tempted to start a war especially now they must be lusting for revenge.
The USA does not want another war in the region and will consider its friendship with turkey a price worth paying.

Maybe so but people have a point in that the U.S may be quiet about the whole thing or perhaps even say something mildly critical (while giving Israel some off the record assurances) due to the fact that Turkey is involves, another country that the U.S attempts to not bother either specifically about the whole Armenian genocide thing.
