Could you also briefly explain them?
I know they have somewhat conflicting messages but:
Woody Guthrie- Jarama Valley
Buffy Sainte-Marie- Universal soldier
(youtube them- I cant post links as I've only posted 7 times :S)
For anyone who doesnt know the Guthrie song is about the Spanish civil war and the battle of jarama valley in which many people from different countries fought against the fascists and Universal soldier is a song that criticises soldiers for fighting in wars.

It's a feminist backlash against oppressive restrictions that come from a traditional monogamist relationship. Nah, I put it there for the lulz.

Lately for me it's been "Let's Lynch the Landlord", by the Dead Kennedys.
Because I don't really like my landlord.

Because I don't really like my landlord.I prefer "Kill, kill, kill the poor" by the same artist.

I like the DK's sarcastic take on politics...it comes off as a lot less pretentious than some other bands. *coughAntiFlagcough*
I like the DK's sarcastic take on politics...it comes off as a lot less pretentious than some other bands. *coughAntiFlagcough*They also have a song about skinning children, which is off the same album. Skinning children is a pretty leftist thing to do. Can't remember its name though. That is such a classic album.

I also like that song "Bleed for Me", just because it includes the line "Dine on a charbroiled nun!" The song "Riot" (off the same album) is excellent, too...really cool progression. I actually like Plastic Surgery Disasters a lot more than Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables (their debut)...it's just a much more accomplished album musically, I think.

Jello Biarfas voice is what keeps it all together. On Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables the bassist had only been playing it for about 3 years. Nonetheless, it's interesting to see how a band like them can progress musically. You can definitely hear how they have improved.
Edit: to the OP, anything by Billy Bragg.

I really can't stand anything obnoxious and generic, it's really irritable for me. One song that instantly comes to mind that annoys me is the The International.
Personally, I like Ay Carmela.
Actually, about The International pet peeve, I just can't stand Billy Bragg's version, I'd rather hear babies crying. Combined in with the song implying humans as a whole are a race (we can discuss that off of the thread, if you want) and I really don't like the tune of the song, both Bragg's version and all versions. Sorry.
But yeah, I like a lot of Spanish Republican songs from the Spanish Civil War

I like all types of revolutionary songs from all times, but I prefer folk style or marches.
It's hard to pick one, but since the topic asks only for one, I choose Enver Hoxha Tungjatjeta!. It's really beautiful.

Hmm.
A couple of the old socialist anthems - The Internationale and Solidarity Forever - speak deeply to me. I have a deep and abiding love for the old Wobbly songs too, We Have Fed You All for a Thousand Years and There Is Power In a Union and a dozen or so other tunes from the Little Red Songbook. And then there are a few overtly political rock songs that stick with me like Black 47's James Connolly and the Clash's Spanish Bombs. James Connolly I guess hits me the most directly.

-L'Internationale

-Hijos de Pueblo (having trouble find my particular version... youtube has a bunch that are either a punk remix or a different singer)
-"Joe Hill" by Luke Kelly

This one is really folksy, but I like it the most out of all the versions.
As for more modern songs, I don't have any that haven't been posted yet.
Edit:
Wouldn't this topic be better suited in Music?
