i was under the impression that in the muslim religion virgins can only marry virgins. thus this rule could pose some problem to polygamy. can someone of the muslim faith certify or deny it?

I'm not from a Muslim background, but I live in a Muslim country. I have never heard anything like this at all. Prophet Mohammed's first wife was in fact a widow, and therefore obviously not a virgin.

i am sure i read it on a muslim website though. i don't think it could be covert racism. perhaps some denomination of muslim thought? no idea. i know this sort of contradicts the idea of muhammed marrying 3 woman especially the last one which was young.

How does this "pose some problem to polygamy?"

Also, what is your ultimate point of this thread?

sorry, it was a rumour. polygamy, if you marry and have sex with your first woman, how are you supposed to get another? she has to be married then divorced.

I was watching a news report on al Jazeera English a few weeks back, and they where reporting on a 15 or 16 year old boy virgin marrying a woman who I think was in her 30's, and it was said that the marriage laws can be altered if the parents of both agree.

And the "covert racism?"
i just meant that such a rule does not seem blasphemous or something. it isn't something that a racist person would invent to put blame on the muslim. and since most of the lies toward other people on the internet have racist motive. i personally can't figure out why such a lie was there. i actually thought this rule wasn't stupid.
