those who take on anti-LGBT positions are a sizable minority, and they usually get restricted or at least verbally abused into submission. They're not really relevant.

Not quite. Latent homophobia exists within everyone to one degree or another as our society conditions us to behave as such. The same go for sexism, racism, etc... None of us here are completely 'clean' or 'pure' in the sense that we see everyone as completely equal because such concepts are pure idealism and have no reflection of the complex realities which are our worlds.

A 'gay rights' group would be welcome here on revleft as it would provide a more isolated space for those interested to discuss possible movements, etc.. and I see no reason why it should be discouraged, or even neglected. There is a big difference between anti-capitalism (which encompasses all leftist positions) and gay rights (which may not encompass all leftist individuals). This is a point that should be noted.
