I received $500 and need suggestions on how I should spend, or save this money. I'm going to college in the fall, but have my food paid for, as well as housing. How should I use this money? Is it worth investing in anything? I dont know that much about financing...thanks guys.

Most established people have some investments though, especially if we count house ownership as investment, which they make some meagre earnings on.

Most people still come out negatively on the whole equation though.

Use the money to get certified/trained/etc into some sort of skill that would help you get good paying part-time (and full-time during the summer) jobs.
