I joined on here a long time ago when I was first looking into communism and Marxism, however I always lurked and rarely posted since I don't consider myself to have learned enough theory to really dive into debate about issues and theory itself. I'm still a student of leftism and Marxism at this point.

I'm a high school sophomore and have been involved with leftist politics since I was 13, ironically enough I was introduced by the other side. Both of my parents are social conservatives, and though online groups I got involved with the far-right. They opposed communism, I did not know really what it was other than Stalin, Mao, and that I wasn't supposed to like them. Researched a bit on Marxism's basic principles and was hooked; I didn't see what there was to hate.

Since then I've flipped around a bit. Settled on democratic socialism and have moved farther to the left since then. I've picked up anything I can get on Soviet history, Che, Cuba, and the Zapatistas.

So, hello! :star:

Welcome :)

I encourage you to post more. A great way to learn is by simply asking or posting provocative posts.

Which is exactly what I want to be doing. I took a current events class last semester and poked holes through many junior and senior arguments, but I know it'll get harder than that and the questions will become more challenging. I've committed myself to become more in-tune with my ideological self and take an initiative to act.
I am taking an AP European History class next year, which will turn out to be interesting. An AP US Government and AP US History class the year after, which too, shall be interesting.
