View Full Version : A possible split growing in the UML?
I saw some articles before referencing dissent amid the rank-and-file in the CPN (UML) towards their compromises with the bourgeisie etc? Does anyone know any more about this?

Alas, no.
My guess, though, is that the rank-and-file are pissed at the UML bureaucracy not seizing the opportunity to enact things like land reform *along* with the Maoists. Their own coalition right now can't get the job done.

Most of the former UML supporters now support the Maoists. They'll be swept away at the next elections. There is currently a potential split developing due to a conflict between leading member Bam Dev Gautam (who split in the 90s to form the CPN ML) and the party leadership.

Nobody knows. The Constituent Assembly is going to fall to bits in like a week.
