Was volunteering at a zoo the other day. A fellow worker asked me if I wanted to smoke salvia with him. Why did I turn it down? Oh yeah, other than the fact that I didn't want to get caught before I knew how the system of people at the zoo would react to it... Maybe some other time, given the fact that he grows it at home.

There's actually a lot of back areas at a zoo. Look for little gates next time you go to one. Or at least there is at the one I volunteer at. Plus there was a small group that did it with him so I don't think the zoo doesn't know about it, but since it's their lunch break and they're mostly old enough they figure it keeps their volunteers from...going insane. Do you know what it's like standing around in the butterfly hut for even two hours when only like 5 people come through? Haha.

Salvia is "difficult" to use
You need a fortified (or whatever) version of it and when you smoke it I'm told you need to hold your inhalation more than with pot to get an effect.

But from what I heard it's like DMT light or something, you feel like you are transported to another place in your mind momentarily or something. Not sure exactly, since I never experienced it myself.

Yeah I've heard plenty of 'bad trip' stories and that it was really short. It wasn't too expensive though, but that was a long time ago.

I've only tried it once. It was in Alaska, and I had to have my girlfriend at the time get it for me, as I wasn't old enough (I was 18, but the lame laws where I lived said that you needed to be 19 to buy tobacco products). And yeah, it was pretty expensive, considering what we got.

We smoked it and it didn't do anything for me, although it apparently worked for her. I have no interest in trying it again...I'd rather just do mushrooms if I want to take hallucinogens.

Mushrooms are the shit. I'm not too big on drugs (have friends that do plenty enough coke for me), but I smoke pot a lot (comes with the territory) and I loooove mushrooms.

Well the thing is is that no one in the group has to pay for it, he grows it himself so if you complain about quality or quantity you can leave.

It's better than nothing since no one seems to have Mimosa Hostilis or similar to make enough DMT for lunch break. And you can't exactly smoke pot and work in a zoo, too many distractions and people coming up and asking you questions you don't know the answers to.

I did coke once. No, actually twice. First time was during an all night booze-and-coke binge in a fancy hotel (which I stayed in for free!), and the second time was in an alleyway in New Orleans. My friend and I smoked coke and snorted it off the back of our hands while watching a homeless man eat trash out of a dumpster a few feet away.

I'd recommend not doing it, personally. It's a lame drug.

I just tried salvia for the first time. I took a small hit first and just had a weird body high.

Then I took a big second hit...

The people around me started to look like cartoons or candy people or some shit like that so I started backing up. Then I realized that I wasn't dreaming and couldn't figure out what reality was. At that point I started running (yah I was outside, not a good idea), and while I was running I felt like everything around me was watermelon colored and I was just part of a circular/tube reality.

Luckily my friend ran after me and started to calm me down (which took a while, though a lot of it was me just trying to grip reality and use logic to get my way out of it). He claims that half way through me running I turned to him and yelled "Don't tell me that was real, don't tell me that was reality).

I always felt like I was wasting my money when I bought benzos. I'd feel chill and sleepy for an hour then bam I've blacked out. I might as well have bought sleeping pills.

Also, mixing opiates and alcohol can be really dangerous, it can result in respiratory depression and is the biggest link to deaths by OD. Your call.

I love wondering about history and how things were discovered. I mean seriously, how did people discover how to make batteries? Who randomly puts lemon juice and copper rods in a pot and connects it with metal to things? or however the arabian battery was made. How did people start doing architecture? Or setting up farms? Or what about all the billions of people who have lived lives that influenced others and aren't remembered by history? If there was such a thing as the afterlife I would hope that I'd be able to watch history unfold as much as I want. That'd be pretty awesome. And be able to watch it any any level, from watching the first elements form together to make RNA to watching Leonardo Da Vinci live his entire life.

Well comrade, you are stronger than me. I did that and it made me unmotivated, unproductive, unhappy and addicted. It got to the point where I smoked more for the sake of it than anything else - I would wake and bake most days, and smoke to stay stoned all day long. I was living in a shit house, I'd broken up with my girlfriend, I was unemployed, and more things besides at various points in the year... and I used weed to distract myself from these problems rather than dealing with them.

Weed is a drug that makes doing nothing fun. So you smoke weed every day, you don't end up doing all that much. We are what we do, and if you're doing nothing you are nothing. That's not a nice feeling.

But in moderation, smoked only every so often, it's a wonderful drug :-)

An Otahuhu resident who was evacuated from his home during a bomb scare last night told 3 News he was smoking “dots” before the event, which made him “trip”.
‘Dots’ or ‘spots’ are slang terms used by New Zealand cannabis smokers that refer to a method of smoking marijuana. It involves rolling pieces of the plant into small balls before vaporising them with knives that have been heated over stove elements and inhaling the fumes.
“I was just sitting at home having some dots,” the man said .
“The police came up and knocked on my door, told me that I have to evacuate, just cause’ they reckon it’s a bomb threat around the place.
“I just tripped ay, I was like ‘Whoa, shit! Must be just happening overseas or something.’
“Looks pretty serious, there’s heaps of cops here and that ... pretty trippy stuff ay.”
The residents that were evacuated yesterday were allowed to return to their homes last night after police removed a “small explosive device” from the scene.

I was at the mainstage for a lot of sets, so it involved me laying on a blanket in the sun watching epic music for 6 hours or so. I would never do mushrooms at a small venue with 2 bands or something. Festivals are a good setting for shrooms.

Yeah, here Joint and Spliff mean the same. I have never actually seen anyone roll a joint without tobacco except me. Me and my stoner buddy prefer it without so that's what we usually do. Thought we'd cut out the papers now and go straight to pipe, much less hassle.

I thought that too when I tried psychedelics for the first time. The first major Psych I tried was Ayahuasca(Mimosa/Rue mix) that changed everything but the taste puts it off. DMT is wonderful I've yet to try it in a pure form. I've just done Ayahuasca and Yopo a few times.

Shrooms are long lasting and easy for beginners not as intense as I would like it though, I'm going for 5g's next.

When it comes to long-lasting psychedelics, shrooms/psilocybin I put it in the low range (last about 6 hours, weaker than other stuff in terms of quantity for dose: need to eat grams of it to get the effect), 2C in the mid-range (at low doses, like 15mg I'm guessing, I would recommend for beginners though, it gives you psychedelia and a noted euphoric feeling. At 30mgs, it gets more serious. Measurements are for 2c-i), and LSD and its analogues at the top (it lasts a long time, like 11 hours, plus relatively speaking psychoactive quantities are measured at microgram level making it the "strongest chemical known to man" although doses are also measured by tab, etc).

My first psychedelic was 2c-i and I tried it 3 times. The third time was a bit harsh, but I handled it.
The next thing I'm looking forward, partly as a challenge presented to my roommate and I, is to take LSD. Although if I wasn't challenged, I would probably stuck to trying to acquire shrooms next semester.

From what I understand, DMT (pure smoked DMT) is a short-acting psychedelic yet from what I read gives the impression that it literally takes your mind, in some sense, to another world.

Also, spice is OK but it's only really worth it if you can't smoke the real shit. Although, a particularly frugal friend of mine buys a jar or two of high potency spice and an ounce of mids at a time. He mixes them to upgrade the mids high to something between mids and dro. Salvia is awful. I've never had a "good" experience with it. I generally have really weird visual hallucinations and auditory hallucinations. The auditory hallucinations are like some language that I only understand when I'm high, but the visual hallucinations generally make me either want to be sick or terrify me.

Think extremely uncomfortable body highs with an "OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT IM FREAKING OUT" mindset. But at least its somewhat fun having your heart jump all over the place when playing COD4.

I heard that JWH is dose dependent in some brands...as in err towards small doses (taking one hit of a little bit), etc.

JWH, as an active compound, is a full agonist of one (or more) receptor(s) THC touches, while THC is a partial one.

on salvia, just found out that the salvia strain thats psychotropic is a. very old and b. 95% of the time sterile, wich means it was already being cultivated, selected and grown for its psychotropic effect an very very long time ago. :thumbup1:
