It looks bloody appalling. Total dreck.
i saw the first episode online ... lots of blood, bit of nudity and swearing - and some bad acting too ...
I love the Kubrick movie, but first impressions of this weren't good ... does it get any better? Is it so bad it's good?

How do you make a show about near-nude men fighting to the death shit eroticism?

it is bollocks, they try to fancy it up with slowing everything down, the effects are horrendous, plenty of shagging in the first few episodes to entice you in and keep you watching, but it all gradually disappears
really poor show.

There's a recipe for making fantastic movies alright.
Jesus, a poor ripoff of 300? How bad does it have to be?

I love the Kubrick movie...
The Kubrick Spartacus has the advantage of a screenplay by Dalton Trumbo (Hollywood black-list victim and fellow traveler) from a source novel by Howard Fast, a Marxist who wrote popular novels with a social conscience. I presume this current version has nothing to do with the Fast book.

Watched about 20 minutes of it the other night and had to turn it off it was quite simply dire.
In fact, it would have to be improved greatly to be worthy of being called 'dire'.
