I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I couldn't find a more appropriate place for it.

WHat would you guys consider to be among the best sources of news on the web?

I'd like something on the web that is truly from a "left" point of view and that has a fairly good RSS feed that I could route to my Google Reader account.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

I have thought about using alternet.org perhaps. What do you guys think?

TO reiterate, I'm looking for a news source other than this site's news section since it's not possible for me to get that routed to my RSS reader.

Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them.

Thanks in advance.

That's what I was going to say. It's a very good resource and in it you'll find many articles on topics that would otherwise be impossible to dig up any information on. Such as how Australia fought only for imperialist gain in WWII and East Timor; something that I had rightly long suspected but could never actually prove.

How frequently is it updated?

Furthermore, does it only provide (consistently) news on socialist movements in terms of official party organization? Or is it more broad in what it covers?

Very frequently

It's pretty broad in what it covers but it's maintained by the International Committee of the Fourth International, which is a trotskyist org. So, it might have articles about various trotskyist groups every so often.

Financial Times tell the truth?

Kind of, because the people who read it make investment choices based on what they read in it.

However theres a kind of doublethink where the positive benefits of a few aer mentioned and the externalities arent.

Of course when you look at this through the context of being a leftie you can gather other things from it.

Sometimes I keep my itunes software (free download from apple.com) set to automatically download the daily Democracy Now! report. An audio version and a video version are both available. The report each day is about forty minutes long.

My organization, Socialist Alternative, publishes an excellent bimonthly newspaper, which is also viewable online, & has more frequent web updates at http://socialistalternative.org

There is also the United Communist Press Association, which has a more frequent schedule of updates. Has a really easy to navigate layout and some great content. http://ucpanews.com

I typically watch Al-Jazeera English, RTAmerica, and Russia Today English(mainly for anti-American lolz). Forgot I also watch The Real News. As far as reading I will read the stuff at Infoshop.org and Libcom.org.
