ok so 6-8 months ago i was laying in bed one night and all of a sudden i had some intense experience. i felt like i was being pulled towards the foot of my bed, extremely terrified, and i seriously had a huge superstitious mind flip for a while. i thought i was being dragged by some ghosts or something.

anyways, why im bringing this up is i sort of had the feeling that it was coming on again so i got up and looked it up.

Difficulty breathing.
Pounding heart or chest pain (http://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/tc/chest-pain-topic-overview).
Intense feeling of terror.
Sensation of choking or smothering.
Dizziness (http://www.webmd.com/brain/tc/dizziness-lightheadedness-and-vertigo-topic-overview) or feeling faint.
Trembling or shaking.
Sweating
Nausea or stomachache.
Tingling or numbness in the fingers and toes.
Chills or hot flashes (http://www.webmd.com/menopause/guide/hot-flashes).
A fear that you are losing control or are about to die.

of those symptoms, i definitely had:
Difficulty Breathing,
Pounding heart
Terror
chills
and a feeling of loss of control and iminent death
that and with the terror, a near paralysis and some auditory hallucination

any of the doctors in the house think this might just be some night time panic attack?

that fits it kind of too. because i was half-asleep when it happened. sort of that twilight in between full consciousness and sleep.

my friend's dad is a therapist, i might ask him about it.

I think it's night terror or something of the sort.
I experienced once what you have in sleep paralysis

Sounds like night terror imo.

That's some crazy shit, in my psych class we got to watch videos of people going through them. Creepy.

With night terror you usually don't wake up at all, at least not in any meaningful sense, and you probably would not have had the "impending doom" feeling as when night terror occurs your body is rarely able to process any kind of lucid thought or emotion. I've always had panic attacks, in fact that last two weeks (which have been pretty nasty for me as far as personal life goes) I've had over a dozen, but sometimes I go weeks and months without having one. Apparently I've suffered from night terror from time to time but can not remember ever doing so, what you described sounds more like a straight up panic attack, they are far more likely to happen at night, especially if you are alone and in bed. Panic attacks can be very horrible, and deeply traumatising experiences, they are sometimes more emotionally scarring than the event which triggered them, and yes, when you have a panic attack sometimes it does feel like the end of your life is approaching, you don't know why or how, you just know. I've had panic attacks I will never forget or get over so I know what you're going through, unfortunately the lower the frequency of attack the harder it becomes to pinpoint the cause of attack, and since you've only had two in the last eight months I wouldn't say it's worth taking any kind of medication or getting any therapy for. It might be worth going to see a doctor just to put your mind at rest, you might never have a panic attack again but if it's on your mind you are far more likely to have one. Definitely seek professional advice if they become more frequent and/or unbearable, and feel free to PM me if you have any questions re panic attacks

I once had a night terror where i could not wake up but i could feel around and touch the wall and my bed that part scared me more then the actual nightmare.
