New propaganda technique - street pastors (http://www.networknorwich.co.uk/Articles/197990/Network_Norwich_and_Norfolk/Partners/Street_Pastors/Ex_Home_Secretary_goes_out_with_Street.aspx), but is it effective? Can politics use this technique?

I'm sure politics can use this technique, but I wouldn't advocate using it. It strikes me as an incredibly cynical ploy, rather than an honest attempt to get people on side.

I don't think it would be particularly effective, most people who would hear them over here just think they're crazy religious nutjobs.

I agree. It's not the greatest venue to get people to actually listen to you.

You need a soapbox like Huey from The Boondocks.

There's a British Marxist called Heiko Khoo who give speeches at Speaker's Corner in London and regularly uploads them to youtube. He is a bit mad though.
