My ultra conservative/Republican/borderline Libertarian father and I have had such arguments about Cuba before and he has recently introduced me to this website which looks like a shitton of manufactured propaganda, but some hard facts against this would be appreciated, thanks.

Well first off I would immediately demand an unbiased source of information. That page is made by cubans forced into exile. If america sends out criminals one does not expect them to be lenient on american government either.

Also, show your dad this (http://www.revleft.com/vb/cuban-truth-against-t126472/index.html) thread. It has links to bourgeoisie source on every claim. All respect to Vegan marxist for collecting this information.

That thread is actually what started the argument, I cited some of those statistics from memory and that's what provoked him. I don't think he's intellectually honest enough with himself to admit that anything other than a free-market based system is one that will work so he desperately searches for sites like this. He won't accept the positive information I feed him, so I need some debunking of his negative information.

Take out the source links in that thread. There are links to the CIA, many organizations of the UN, and others.

What exactly are all the arguments made by your father against Cuba?

He literally just sat me down and made me go to the website. Questioned me on how much the average wage is in Cuba to which I responded probably quite low considering inhumane embargo actions by the United States and the fact that most people in Cuba are ensured their life anyway so anything paid to them is literally extra. And he then went on to redirect me to the healthcare section of the website and left shortly thereafter.

What the hell? Anything paid to them is "literally extra"? So they're not working for wages in Cuba? There is no exploitation in Cuba?
What anti-worker bullshit.

I apologise if I come off that way, I'm not entirely educated on the matter as you can see else I wouldn't be asking for help. I was speaking more comparatively to most western cultures I suppose, I think it was more heat of the moment speech than anything well thought out to be frank.

Comments like these certainly don't help. He's still learning, so cut the confrontational attitude.

And we wonder why people think the level of discussion here blows.

Your dad may have a point when it comes to success in health care when compared to the U.S., since the U.S. is a just above Cuba when it comes to that, but one also have to keep in mind how Cuba, along with Venezuela, are practically the only ones sending in thousands of doctors, willingly, to third world countries to help who ever's in the need of service freely.

Ah, isn't this that website that posts pictures of black people in the streets and then goes on about supposed institutional racism in Cuba (coming from exile-Cubans in the United States of all places just makes that so much stranger).
