As the title says, I think Harvey's interview on BBC's HARDtalk was much better than Badiou's or Zizek's respective appearances on the channel. They both seemed to be caught in the "read my book because I can't try to dive into this subject with this short amount of time" style of interview where as Harvey seems to have recognized the venue he was in much better. (Oh boy, I've been accused of being a "David Harvey fanboy" before and this post certainly doesn't help my defense against that title any more)

Anywho, here's the video

Interesting. Only seen the first part, I might watch the rest later. Thanks.

Brilliant, saw this yesterday. Love the guy. Especially the part where he says "Come on! That's not an extreme!"

Interviewer can fuck right off though.

Yeah she was so close minded. Although I think she used to be a stockbroker so that might explain it.

She was actually a lot nicer than the interviewer for Zizek or Badiou. The thing is, she gave the questions and responses that any Communist should expect, and Harvey gave the answers that any Communist should give to try to debunk the very validity of those questions.

Harvey said at the end to "imagine an alternative," but missing in his response is the need for genuine class politics.

Also, it's a shame the interview wasn't long enough.

Ive started watching his series on Capital by Marx and so far it's really interesting, Ive read a lot by Chomsky on anarchism and his other stuff, but the amount I really *dont* know about everything leftish is ridiculous when I think about it.
