Announcement of the Press Office concerning the massive demonstrations of PAME and the action of provocation mechanisms
The mechanisms of the system and all of the supporters of the plutocracy’s harsh attack against the people were frightened by the massive strike gatherings and demonstrations of the All Workers Militant Front (PAME) that together with the All Farmers Militant Rally (PASY), the Pan-Hellenic Antimonopoly Rally of Free- lance workers (PASEVE), the Students’ Militant Front (MAS), the women and other organizations convulsed Athens, Thessalonica, Piraeus, Patras and all the other cities of Greece. They were frightened and that is why they put forward the mechanism of provocation which has the interception of the people’s counter attack as its goal.
The burning of the bank, situated on the avenue “Stadiou”, which counted for three dead people, is a crime that has as its goal to terrorize the people, to slander the struggle for the overthrow of the barbaric measures, the antipopular policy. These actions are useful for those who try to submiss the people with lies and slander.
The Communist Party of Greece denunciates, to all of the Greek people, that the provoked plan was implemented when the demonstration of PAME reached the Parliament. A group of provocateurs tried to engage demonstrators in to devious actions by snatching flags of PAME and using different slogans and actions. The intention was clearly to slander the Communist Party of Greece and PAME. The immediate intervention of the workers who guarded the demonstration disarmed the provocateurs and isolated them while the loudspeakers of the demonstration were accusing them.
The existence of a plan was proved by the slander launched against the Communist Party of Greece by the chairman of the extreme right wing party “LAOS” just moments after, in the Parliament. He claimed that the Communist Party of Greece called on the demonstrators to invade the Parliament and burn it. The same slandering against the Communist Party was also launched through TV channels and radio stations that belong to big industrialists.
The massive rallies and demonstrations of PAME showed that the organized safeguarded popular movement can express and convert the people’s exasperation into a political class force and repel the provocative plans, the plans of terrorizing the people from where ever they originate. The Communist Party of Greece calls on the people to give an even more decisive answer to the government and its allies, to the mechanisms of suppression, provocation and slander of the popular movement through its struggle. The Communist Party conveys its condolences for the death of the three workers.
All at the demonstrations of PAME tomorrow so that the barbaric measures of the government, the provocations and the slander will not pass.
