This is why the world hates you :p

Hey, I know full well the lyrics are juvenile hyperbolic third-worldist shit.
Give me a break. Recording it was really cathartic, and I'm finally starting to get over my fear of my own voice.
"The world hates me"? Why is it callous, 'edgy' humor is so much more acceptable when it targets everybody BUT the United States (i.e. those who are truly deserving of ridicule)?
Come on, it wasn't nails on a chalkboard, was it?

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. This reminds me of that debate about a year ago I had on political music, when I stated that 'music' which prioritises political rhetoric (a dodgy one at that) over songwriting and structure is likely to be pretty bad.

On a positive note, the drum machine is alright for this sort of thing, though i'm not a fan of the overpowering 'squelch' noise. I think your singing is very off-key at about 0:53.

Well, wonderful. Everyone thinks I'm a dick now. I did not intend to prioritize political rhetoric, but I suppose I unconsciously did. In my mind, I thought of it as a sort of generic offensive statement to rile people up, much like how christianity is used as a punching bag in black metal music, only substituting "amerikkkans" for christians.
Sorry I'm such a horrible person. I feel powerless under capitalism, and I guess sometimes that causes my inner reactionary 13 year old boy to come to the surface.
Please trash this thread.

Now I know what you were doing this whole time you've been silent. Thank you. From all of us. I'm being so sincere right now.

I really liked your music, how did you make/ where did you find that none drum/base sound? Your singing is okay, however im not that found of singing. A few years ago when i didn't know there where people in the US of A who weren't bush loving arrogant chauvinistic ignorant imperialists, i would surely have loved the lyrics.

"Singing about politics is like dancing about architecture." - Frank Zappa
Yea lets just not mention politics at all, and keep the status quo.
As much as i like Frank Zappa's music this is bullshit. Music is one way of getting through to people.

Man, way to twist the knife. I was not doing this the whole time I was silent, as it took only about a half an hour to record the whole thing. I go through long periods of not posting online because I'm motherfucking depressed.

So what? Most political 'music' fucking sucks.

Just relax. Your music needs a lot of work - you can't write a brilliant song in half an hour. Also bear in mind you can't just sing in any key you want. If you want to sing in a song, keep that in mind.

I agree with Bilan for once. The first song I ever put up was panned as well, and that just spurred me on to take more time and try and right better songs. Although at the end of the day, different people will like different songs. The most important thing is that if it pleases you and you think its your best work. If not, try again and keep trying.

Was it fruityloops you used btw?

I like the beat. The melody could use some work.

Please put this thread in the trash. I posted a crappy song hoping the knee-jerk anti-americanism would strike a chord and perhaps gain me a pat on the back.
I realize now it was gimmicky and childish to expect such results, and honestly feel embarrassed because I know this song is not representative of my best work.

Btw I use Acid Pro 4.0. It's dated software and somewhat counter-intuitive to work with- It's difficult to write motivic development a la Beethoven using loop-based software.
And I know I got the one note wrong at the end- I'm not tone-deaf, I was just anxious to finish the damn thing and get my ego stroked; I suppose that can be attributed to laziness and vanity on my part.

Come now. It actually aint bad, though wanting to kill all the Americans is a tad bit overblown.

Just woulda been better if you had spent some of that time working on the LGP soundtrack...

I guess petty vanity stopped him from dignifying our honest efforts with even a response.

To each his own, I guess.
