The british government says it has no economic interests in Ireland.
What abot this then.
Conroy Diamonds and Gold was established in 1995 to exploit the discovery of the Galmoy Ore deposits - now in production as a major zinc mine. Its current activities are on a geological structure known as the Longford-Down Massif - British Interest.
natural gas, petroleum, peat, copper, lead, dolomite, barite, limestone, gypsum, silver and some zinc. Key industries are just a few of Ireland resources that Britain is taking.
Ireland's mining companies include the Anglo American plc, Arcon International Resources plc, Boliden Mineral AB, Conroy Diamonds and Gold P.l.c., Hereward Ventures plc, Mino Mining & Metals Corporation, Minco plc, and Strongbow Resources Ltd.
Ireland is riddled with foreign investment and irelands capitalists and its northern occupiers whore its products out instead of providing for the people.
If Ireland is reunited by either the IRSP or SF, will its natural resources be nationalised?
Cheers.

The IRSP explicitly states their goal is to end the neocolonial oppression of the south aswell as the occupation of the north and to establish a 32 county socialist republic. SF however I don't think they have such a good understanding of imperialism, and are more concerned with just uniting Ireland (correct me if im wrong)..
Marxism-Leninism is very important in understanding the nature of imperialism as a form of capitalism, which is what makes the IRSP the correct party to free Ireland.

Yeah, imperialism, without a marxist reading is just aggresion and occupation, when you give it a loeninist viewpoint, you see how imperialismis just the hihest stage in capitalism.
Isnt imperialism just monopoly capitalism, where competition is forcefully restricted.
Thats what our working class lads and women are dying for in the mountains of Afganistan and the oil fields of Iraq too, lest someone open their eyes.

I think that's an accurate statement of their current position. Essentially, SF at the leadership level anyway is no longer a Republican organization.

Imperialism has economic interests everywhere. This is hardly surprising. Ireland is a country massively dependent on foreign investment.
The issue is whether the British ruling class has an interest in maintain direct colonial control, outside of the fact that it's stuck in a quagmire, which it doesn't.

I thinkit does, it wants to keep its first colony, it wants what little colonialpower it has left.

Why? Britain will continue to economically dominate Ireland without the added drain of the the yearly subvention, security costs and instability.

I always find it funny how right James Connolly was
"If you remove the English army tomorrow and hoist the green flag over Dublin Castle, unless you set about the organization of the Socialist Republic your efforts would be in vain. England would still rule you. She would rule you through her capitalists, through her landlords, through her financiers, through the whole array of commercial and individualist institutions she has planted in this country and watered with the tears of our mothers and the blood of our martyrs."
Seems he's right.90% of Irish businesses are Multinationals and most of the decision are made in Brussels
