That guy is a wanker, but ive got to be honest,i would just put a bullet into a rapist, i up until recently advocated everyone should be given a chance at redemption, but to be honest, the person who can rape and abuse adults and children is scum, it isnt economically driven, its vile exploitative and i have to say, i wouldnt be as lenient on rapists as we are today.

Yet tomorow, i will probably denounce my statements as reactionary, my crime and punishment views are not yet concrete.

Thanks for the thread though mate, i think open discusion about these things is healthy.

I sympathize with those feelings, because I was once in a relationship with a woman who had been abused as a child, it was very hard to see how much hurt it caused her. At the same time though, what she also taught me is that the victim very often has questions for their attacker, and a need to confront them at some time, and killing them makes getting those answers impossible.

Also, you really have to remember that the reason the death penalty is such a problem has nothing to do with the severity of the crime, but rather, the fact that you can't always guarantee the person you convict is actually guilty - and some innocent people will die. You can let an innocent person out of jail later, but you can't un-execute them.

I don't see what making them re-register every 90 days will do. If they are going to commit another offense, they will do it regardless.

I also don't see how him being a business man has anything to do with his decision on the situation. What kind of profit does it bring in?

Tim James' polices do not make a lot of sense to me, and being that I live in Alabama, I get the luxury of him spamming my TV every 10 minutes.

Yeah i get what your saying, i know my feelings are affecting my decision on the subject, but i find it hard to seperate my emotions in cases of predetory violence.

Maybe he owns a company that sells bureaucratic forms. :p

But not all sex offenders are rapist. In some cases, everything could have been consensual, but the person lacked a year or two of being of legal age. I'm not trying to justify anything, but sometimes people are just caught in the crossfire.

Getting close to that 1000th post, eh?

How many sex offenders are statutory rape convicts, about 3, most have done horrific acts, My old best mates brother has just been sent down for pedophilia, i have found myself wondering if my old friend suffered.

Good point. I'm not sure if there already are some, but I wonder if any zoning laws would be able to be instituted to lower the chances of people from being repeat offenders.

Indeed, and here it is.

I have to admit that ever since I saw Tim James' first ad, I was waiting to see this one:

"Hi, I'm Tim James. You know, I'm a Christian. And sometimes when I hear Chinese people talking in that crazy language of theirs, I get uncomfortable, like they might be talking about me. I think it should be illegal for Chinese people to talk like that around normal Americans. Makes sense to me. Does it to you?"

I bet that one is next on the list.
Sad thing is though, most people down here would probably be like "Ya know wut Cleetus? It dus make sense ta me."
I had to talk these two girls out of wanting to vote for him the other day because they thought his driver's license test crap was a good idea. Hopefully I got through to them.

This is typical of American politics.

Lets say I'm an unemployed man in Alabama. I might be concerned about rapists and what not, but ultimately I'm going to wonder, how is this relevant to me being able to secure a living?

I guess Tim James has some plan to employ people to hunt down offenders who don't register? He has business savvy skills so maybe he could organize this! And then he'll create a model for the rest of America to follow and end the recession!

Easier to distract people from the fact that they can't (or won't) fix the fucking economy by getting them to raise their torches and pitchforks against perverts and foreigners.

Yes, distracting people from the main issues have been a cornerstone of politics for a long time. After all, all this concern over "the gay" and how evil it is from these types, is a prime example of how people can get distracted.

"In 2004, James and his brothers entered into a deal with Orange Beach, Alabama to build a toll bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway. Although analysts expect the city to profit from the deal beginning in 2014 the city is presently having to borrow money to meet the terms of the arrangement. James no longer owns the bridge but sold it to an Australian company for $70 million."

lolwut. I don't see where he gets off with his "Amurca strong!" attitude.

Don't worry, it's ok when he does it.

Standard political nonsense. Get everyone riled up at sex offenders to the point where the election isn't about issues that matter. After all, who can possibly defend sex offenders?

Makes sense to me. Does it to you?
