Can someone give me a hint about post modern political nihilism? I m talking about political groups, not theorists like Derrida.

Thanks.

Hitchens referred to al qaeda as nihilists. I'm not sure if that's what you mean, though. And I'm not sure Hitchens is all that reliable. But, he's the only one that I know of that has referred to any political movement as nihilist.

Political nihilism doesnt really lend itself well to the formation of groups. In terms of organisational practice nihilists would probably be more comfortable with inssurectionist style affinity groups and temporary organisation. Nihilism in the political sense can be thought of as "despair at current conditions is so unbearable that destruction becomes the only desireable course of action."

There hasnt really been a proper nihilist political movement since the russian (social) nihilists who influenced Bakunin and Kropotkin. The to the people movement wasnt that much of a success. However political nihilist ideas are certainly influential to a lot of people. However it seems more to be a personal philosophy these days than an actual political movement.

In Greece the ideas of Netchaev find many ears open.We even have two guerilla teams that are pro nihilism:revolutionaries secht and conspiracy of cells of fire-nihilists splinter group

So they do follow a more insurectionist style of organisation?
