Any update on the situation there?

Nothing 'cept Russia seems worryingly keen on arresting members of the now overthrown government. The new government has problems in two, three southern towns as the people there seems to think the old government was awesome.

What I really want to know is, I know they're not particularly working class, at least not the entirety of them, but are they of the class conscious of the bourgeoisie? And if so, knowing they're of national-bourgeoisie, what type - petit or normal?

An interesting fact; Rosa Otunbayeva, the current head of the Kyrgyz provisional government, majored in Marxism-Leninism. The theme of her dissertation was "Criticism of the falsification of the Marxist-Leninist theory by the Frankfurt School of Marxism" or something like that.

Oh I just posted some articles on it here (http://www.revleft.com/vb/kazakhstan-mass-prison-t136599/index.html). Because Peter Taaffe was actually over there, the CWIs coverage has been quite comprehensive. I'll keep folks updated if there's further interest or if when I hear more.

Although they're both -stans and start with a K, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are not the same ;)
