Jon Stewart has been turning into sort of an Obama ass kisser and the Colbert Report has been less liberal than usual, more apologetic of the administration.

They painted the health care bill as extremely popular and neglected to mention that a huge number of people were against it because it wasn't enough to help people become insured. But his show painted it as if Fox was just lying (they were) and that most people supported it.

Lately he's been "boo-yah-ing" when ever Obama retorts back to right wingers as if this is so awesome or something.

Maybe it's because I am more left wing than liberal now, but it just seems like Stewart and Colbert are way less critical of Obama and his administration than they were with Bush's.

I think they're still socialists, but ones that let the money get to them. They enjoy the mainstream views & popularity. And so they have to play along a little bit.

Surely you jest. Those guys have been pwogwessive shrills since the get go. They have a few good lines every now and then, but the fact that they were ever seen as "challenging the establishment" shows the docility of the rest of the news media.

They've always been pro-establishment and if you think their news is somehow better than CNN or Fox News because they're able to poke fun at it, then you're the one who was being duped.

They've always been pro-establishment. Your dangerous assumption is that rightist neo-con news IS the establishment. In my opinion, these bourgeois liberals are far worse.

They've always backed the progressive elements of the Democrats and they will go out of their way to defend their actions. Though I'm not sure for how much longer, their "progressive" audience they cater to have been becoming increasing disillusioned with the Obama administration.

With the healthcare debate behind them they'll probably begin to gravitate away from that and focus on bashing tea baggers more than Obama and Co.

They're liberals. I don't know what you think they are going to say. They are not socialist, so they are of course for the establishment (as in capitalism). But they are also quite funny, so it evens out.
