While not of general historical interest, all soviet-o-nostalgics and tankies here might enjoy this little documentary.

After having seen this, I almost feel compelled to play Tetris.

I have had a chance to converse with Alexei, the creator of Tetris, as we frequent some of the same independent game dev boards, and he seems like a pretty nice guy. He has managed to get by and make a couple other puzzle games, none as interesting as Tetris, though.

Didn't he develop Hexic (or whatever it's called) as well?

Yep, he's really all over the budget spectrum, which is rare for game designers. Hexic is pretty high profile, seeing as almost everyone with an Xbox 360 has it, but he's also recently released a game called Dwice with a smaller independent company.

Could someone post a link to a good online Tetris?

I don't think there's such a thing as a bad Tetris clone.

Gosh, you can't even watch a documentary for a fucking soviet video game that isn't drenched in anti-communist propaganda.
''One big impression I got at the time in Moscow is that there is no colour everywhere. There is no advertisments, nobody is trying to sell you anything. So, the whole place is kind of blunt, it's like all the colours have been sucked out...sucked out of the city''While at the same time you have a melancholic music playing on the background...
How enlightening!I hadn't understood consumerism is what gives colour to my life all this long!
I almost cried at the speech in the end, when the narrator was comparing the soviet union's bureaucracy with the ''free world''.Take a second to thing how many money were wasted for the property rights of a digital puzzle and how much more efficiently they could be used.According to the capitalist logic if you are fucked over by the corporations it's freedom and if you are fucked over by the state it's socialism.Goddamn stupid liberals:blink::cursing::thumbdown:
