I am interested in the Zapatista revolution/movement and was wondering if anyone could guide me to some informative material. Any medium is cool with me, be it film, books, or websites, etc. I'm just not entirely sure where to begin.

Documentary: A Place Called Chiapas (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4513202692382805096#) - very good, great insight into how the EZLN came about and operates
http://libcom.org/library/commune-chiapas-zapatista-mexico (http://[FONT=") Libcom article dealing with the politics of the EZLN. Pretty informative, takes a fairly critical look at just how "revolutionary" they are.
http://www.struggle.ws/mexico/ezlnco.html -- This site archives most if not all of the EZLN communiques and letters. Very good resource.

I do have this on my hard drive, but haven't watched yet. I'll have to make the time. And get some blank dvds. Thanks. Does anyone know if there are any "academic" writings on the movement. Not that I value academia or academic material any more than other sources, but I am curious.

there's quite a lot.
Harry Cleaver has written (http://libcom.org/library/chiapas-uprising-future-class-struggle-new-world-order-cleaver)a number (http://libcom.org/library/zapatistas-international-circulation-struggle-cleaver)of useful (http://libcom.org/library/zapatista-effect-cleaver) articles (http://libcom.org/library/zapatistas-electronic-fabric-struggle-draft-cleaver), though they are somewhat old by now. I am not sure about any more recent pieces.
An interesting book is The Zapatista Social Netwar (http://www.rand.org/pubs/monograph_reports/MR994/), by a group of scholars associated with the RAND corporation. Of course, their analysis is informed by its usefulness for the other side of the "social netwar"...
There's also a collection edited by John Holloway, Zapatista! Revinventing Revolution in Mexico (1998) which has some useful essays
Mihalis Mentanis, Zapatistas: The Chiapas Revolt and What it Means for Radical Politics (2006) is not that great to be honest
ETA: if I think of any more I will post the titles.

I picked this up today and will probably crack it open later tonight; it looks promising.
If anyone is interested, I also picked up The Zapatista Reader, edited by Tom Hayden. It looks promising so far, but it seems less about the Zapatistas and more about the effects of the movement globally. I picked up it up mainly because it was more recent, 2002, than Reinventing Revolution in Mexico.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions though.
