Why are people so FULL RETARD about this?
"DUUUUUUUUUUUH IT'LL RUIN MY VIEW HURP DE DERP!11!1!"

Wind and solar power RULE
Here in Michigan, they want to build (a) a new coal plant and (b) a biomass (wood-burning) plant.
I say: (a) no more mercury in our fish and (b) save the trees, because they absorb CO2 and... forests look nice!

I'm glad it's been approved, now we can take advantage of the stronger wind currents and reap the benefits in the form of alternative energy. It confounds me that approving of this was such an issue before.

Finally. They had some in here in Florida, but they got taken down because 'they were ugly'.

I'll tell you what looks UGLY: Belching smokestacks. Chimneys blowing airborne toxic waste into the sky. Now THAT'S UGLY. :sneaky:
Windmills remind us of "the alternative" (ultra-clean vs ultra-dirty)

I believe Ayn Rand loved smokestacks because they reminded her of progress or something weird like that.

Ted Kennedy was one of the biggest opponents of this, for all the green talk he spewed when puch came to shove the view from his yacht is what mattered.
Can't find the NYTimes article I remember reading about this...it's kind of hard to find work critical of that bastard since he croaked and people want to remember him as some kind of hero. Fucking bullshit.

NIMBY clown. It's amazing how many of these "green" bourgeoisie really fall into that stereotype. Most of them don't give a flying fig about the human race, just their own "pristine" little hobbies.
In re: the proposal, from what I understand a few artificial islands in the middle of the atlantic are predicted to serve humanities needs for a few centureis to come.

Yes! , I hope they ban offshore drilling next. Make more room for some nice wind turbines. :)
