Corruption is the biggest threat to Communist Party of Cuba. I recently saw an article in Cuba, is a well-known Cuban scholar to write. He writes: If the Cuban regime has been the disintegration of subversion, the interests of some people ready to carve up. Then, these people will be who? One can not ignore the fact is. It will be some high-level Cuban Communist Party bureaucrats. One might support the dissidents in Cuba. This is not surprising. However, in reality, those dissidents in Cuba is isolated. The Cuban Communist Party is the real high-level bureaucratic corruption, counter-revolutionary. Cuban media have some low-level coverage of official corruption. However, I think the Cuban Communist Party should be to eradicate corruption from the system construction breeding sources. This may need another revolution. China will have great significance. This will be a great experiment.

In the case of bureaucratic corruption, it is a "there is no alternative" case for socialist parties of 20th century. When the people are not capable to organise by themselves and they need the party to intervent, the causality is for the party members to become bureaucrats. In the case of Cube, where many people from the revolution are still alive,it was milder all these years. As the time passes, this will become more and more ruff.
People need to let 20th century socialism let go. It was an experiment that failed. It gave us lots of things,it tought us a lot,but it was a failure. And it was a failure because it was too soon. today we speak on an other basis.Today the time has come for revolutions that will achieve not just socialism, but communism.

Corruption is one of the single greatest threats to any revolution, and the Cuba one is no different, a point that Fidel has made repeatedly, from the Escalante Affairs of 1961 and 1968 to the open period of the 80's and again over the past couple of decades.
Is there corruption in the Cuban CP and society? Hell yes. Is it critical? Not yet, but the ongoing isolation of Cuba, plus the temptation of a half-formed revolution in Venezuela rife with corruption and the added pressure of Chinese "socialism" mean that the battle is being had out now.
Which means a higher - and somewhat more discerning - level of solidarity than in the past is required of supporters of the Cuban Revolution.

I agree, after all, something replacing the present Cuban system with a pro-capitalist inclination would be much worse.
The way, the "scholar" describes the Cuban society, doesn't seem that he is happy with the present system, we should be careful about that kind of "intellectuals".

Power corrupts. You have hierarchies, you're gonna have corruption. You would think the authoritarians would finally realize this after the 10,000th failure.

I'm not an authoritarian, but the truth is, to have a society you need organization, and for there to be organizations there has to be leaders. Civilization requires leadership - it's just there also needs to be checks and balances on things so that no one is too powerful, and there needs to be accountability to democratic oversight.

I assume your justification for this is human nature? Because lots of other people say that, and I don't think they're on our side...

Well, I disagree. Hierarchies and leaders are antithetical to anarchism.

Justification for what? Power corrupting? I wouldn't say it's so much human nature as it is a highly evidenced phenomenon visible all throughout human existence. So if that's what you mean, then I suppose it could be attributed to human nature as those in power rarely wish to relinquish it.
If I had power over people I honestly can't say that my political ideology would be enough for me to give freedom to those I control. My mindset and worldview would most likely be entirely different than it is now.

It most certainly is, but what's that got to do with anything? I'm not anarchist, and neither was the character of the Cuban Revolution.

I appreciate that you have a different perspective on it, but I really do believe there must be leadership.
