I just had to share this song with you guys before I went to bed. This whole album is relatively new, if you think Through the Windowpane came out in 2006 (the Guillimots first album) and this came out early this year (Fyfe's first solo album) sometime. I absolutely love this song, I was listening to it all day today. The production, on the drums in particular (I might just notice the drums more because I'm a drummer) is very cool, the drums throughout the album sound very funky and dry*. The lyrics are generally quite good as well. Listen out for "and there's angels defeating themselves", which I particularly like. Although, I think the use of adverbs is a rather lazy way to purvey meaning. I mean adverbs like "fathomlessly", which is used in the second song I give a link to. It depends in what context it's used; but I think it's enough to rely on the power of your verbs, to carry the meaning, having said that a song has to fill a certain meter, and "fathomlessly" does that job quite well.
I listened to this album a fair bit just before I am with the girlfriend I am with now, whilst I sort of realised how much I like her, so this music carries strong connotations, even though that may sound pretentious or cheesy :P. I like it when you have memories or feelings that you felt at a certain time, and you attach them to a piece of music that you listened to at that certain time. The music sort of becomes milestones, or markers, for certain points in your life. I dunno if anyone shares this same sort of experience, would be nice to discuss it. Anyway, thanks for listening to my meandering thoughts, I don't post in music often and this was rather off the cuff. Here's the song:

*for some really well-produced (IMO), funky drums hear this song. But, for me, it's a real shame the bass guitar isn't funkier or louder, or more predominant, it could have really made the song. The first track on the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1C48LDwruo&feature=related
