Good read.

Where did you buy it, comrade? Does it portray them in a positive light?

Got it off Amazon books.
And yes it portrays them in a very good light.

Yeah, I saw it was being sold on Amazon. I'm thinking about reading it, but right now, despite whether it brings truth about FARC, fact of the matter is that they are not in the numbers they once were. So I hope this new leadership they're within will bring them back in numbers.

Not according to this book, infact it places the membership of FARC-EP at around 42,500.
The so called "defeats" it has suffered recently have had minimal effect on FARC-EP and are little more that a publicity campaign according to the book.

The majority of claims he makes are referanced continuously throughout the book, if anything his constant need to referance claims grows slightly tedious but at least it is well researched.
But there are segments of the book that are purely based on his own subjective encounters with FARC-EP and state forces.

I'll keep an eye out for a copy of this book that isn't so expensive.

Got the book in my hand at the moment, my university library had it. It's pretty good so far, and thoroughly sourced. I highly recommend it.

You're lucky. The only thing my university has is a worn out Communist Manifesto, few works on Marx, Mao, & Cuba, along with a book on privatized prison systems & why it's a failure. That's it.

Use the interlibrary loan. It only failed me once when I needed a dissertation from a small university in a developing country.

Going to a big public university has it's benefits.

I'll have to check it out. I recently read a book on Colombia called "America's Other War: Terrorizing Colombia"
It depicted FARC pretty positively, and showed the lies about the wars (cold, drug, terrorism) and how the state commits the terrorism. I recommend it.
