your thoughts on..

I don't bear them any ill will. I'm sure the vast majority of them are noble people who genuinely mean well.

My problem is when they take advantage of the vulnerable and demand respect for that.

What are your thoughts?

Are there any examples of what social entrepreneurs have achieved?

My thoughts are that they seem to be rich social workers. They genuinely care about certain issues but they don't branch out enough to start solving the real issues- otherwise they'd be radicals. They maintain the lives of entrenched individuals without offering a sustainable solution.

well, an example would be social housing nonprofits. They do produce housing, ride herd on contractors, raise funds, often from foundations or government entities. so the people who initiate them to begin with, who do the spadework to get them up and running, could be considered to be social entrepreneurs. sometimes the initiators become executive directors but not always. sometimes they remain on the board of directors.
