There's an excellent documentary on the different ways sex relations changed in east and west Germany after the partition, called "Do Communists Have Better Sex?". I watched it on Youtube some time in the past, but it's no longer available. Does anybody know where I can get a copy, other than paying the $390 the film's distributor wants for it?

$390???? Those filmmakers must be mega-capitalists...

lol when I saw the thread title I thought it was another thread like this one (http://www.revleft.com/vb/communist-girlsi-t132949/index.html).

Yes, we have better sex.

I'm going to go on record and agree that "communists have better sex" is a scientifically objective fact.

But since I already knew that:thumbup1:, it's not what I was asking. I really hope someone has an answer.

I wish to test this scientifically. Find me 10 homosexual Marxists and 10 homosexual non-Marxists. And they've all got to be really fit

c'mon folks, at least try to read and address Mq ducks' question directly. If this thread continues to degenerate, I am going to have to move it (or the array of dumb posts) to chitchat.

If someone knew, they would have said by now. Now the thread is fair game for degeneration

You'd be amazed at how many threads go buried unanswered until someone finally comes forward. I'm giving this another day or so.

Here's an article. Didn't find your documentary, though

Well, under Capitalism, sex is sold like a commodity, in which doesn't really bring pleasure for both partners, because at least one of them is merely doing it for the money - or better yet, money for the pimp so that the pimp don't kill her. This would not be present under a Communist world. So, if compared to what goes on through the acts of sex under the Capitalist system, then it's hard not to say that sex in Communism is better than sex under Capitalism.

btw, here's a clip of the video I'm sure you were talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpEfhuHVkMc

Well firstly, one's political attitudes don't affect your physiology, so there's the question of an individual's own talent. Although, for heterosexuals, male communists will be more enlightened in attitudes towards women, and consequently will pay more attention to her pleasure.

Think of it like anybody could have the delicate dexterity to play the violin, but if you have somebody living in an environment hostile to classical music, they won't learn; then you can have someone naturally cack-handed who is pressed to learn the violin who with practise comes to play it decently. I think my egalitarian outlook does have a bearing on how I roll in the hay, if I'm honest.

Plus we're just more honest and advanced in talking about sexuality.

I've found torrents through the original German title: "Liebte der Osten anders" subtitled "Sex im geteilten Deutschland."
Here's the imdb page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0961148/
Here's a link to a not very promising rip (as in, it says there are no seeds): http://btjunkie.org/torrent/Liebte-der-Osten-anders-Sex-im-geteilten-Deutschland-XviD-dTV/39002605d8b87ebddfee764ede47eb7d052a004c84cb

Hope any of that helps.

Comrades, echoing MarxSchmarx this is a serious inquiry about a documentary film on post-unification Germany. Anything you have to say about the movie is welcome; one-liner posts have reached their maximum for this thread.

So this site: http://www.worldscinema.com/2010/05/andre-meier-do-communists-have-better.html has links to rar files of the film, but I downloaded and tried and there seems to be an error with one of the parts.

Also the film is on YouTube, but with Italian dubbed over and no English subtitles. so not too sure if that helps or not.

I would like to see this film, it seems pretty interesting. A lot of the reviews seem to not take it to seriously, but I think that sexuality is a serious matter.

I'd say in a society in which the oppressed classes can bear the full fruits of their labour, through real workers democracy, the workers could also bear the full fruits of their sexual intercourse, without the persistent dark cloud that capitalism hangs over their heads. Economic liberation - social liberation - personal liberation - sexual liberation ;).

I don't know of the film though, or where to find it.

It seems the only way to get ahold of the film would be if it is one's local library (or if you want to shell out almost 400 bucks, but I think that's more for institutions to buy)

If we didn't have good sex, we'd end up being like this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNmGjCsX-LU

And you know, you don't want to end up like that!

Also, why would someone seriously pay 300+ dollars on a documentary about Communist Sex?
